“The area is lovely, but the cabin is sandwiched between a run-down, seemingly abandoned cabin and another with a massive "Don't Tread on Me" flag, where a guy gave us a few not-so-friendly looks. The fire pit and hot tub back up into that property, so it's far from private. The hot tub's water was green and smelled gross. Another letdown was the arcade machine that my kids looked forward to and immediately tried to use, only to find out it was broken. That ruled out both activities they'd been looking forward to. Generally speaking, the cabin was cozy, comfortable, and clean. The decor is cute and the kitchen was very well stocked. However, I don't see any reason to visit that property or area again, especially for that price.”airbnb

“The lake is nice and it is all like the photos, however we specifically booked this place over a different one because of the hot tub. The hot tub was green and slimy and basically unusable. Everything else was fine, just really sucks I spent $200 more on one place specifically for a want of the hot tub.”airbnb

“The host cancelled the day before our reservation if 10 people and we had to find a new place at the last minutes. He helped in no way to cover our stay and then did not actually cancel the reservation in the app and is not cooperating with refunding my $1,648. I am having to follow up with Airbnb to try and get my money back. I have never been so frustrated and do not recommend this host.”airbnb

“There is 0 cell service at this rental, screenshot WiFi and door code before arriving. It’s very musty and mildew smelling. There was only 1 actual bed, the other “beds” were air mattresses. Listing shows several beds on frames in a room, that’s not at all what we got. Inside was decently clean, outside was unusable. The paddleboat was full of water, 3 available propane tanks were all empty. Grill was disgusting. Only 1 life jacket for 2 kayaks and the unusable paddleboat. The Walkway in was unsafe and covered in acorns, hadn’t been swept in weeks about rolled an ankle walking to door.. patio was so gross with cobwebs, and dirt we couldn’t even sit on furniture or at the table. The deck had a hole in it by the swing so you couldn’t even safely get to swing if you wanted to…Hot water is intermittent, turns ice cold a few minutes in. Pictures looked nice, but it needs some attention and outdoor cleaning to be able to use listed amenities. Property and area are nice and peaceful though.”airbnb

“Back door wouldn’t lock. Front door was extremely hard to get locked. Had to really mess with it. Couldn’t keep anything in the room. Was to worried. Parking lot is very rough tires on my truck kept spinning. Cord for the stove is just long enough to where you can see it’s been burnt a little bit. First night I couldn’t make dinner because they said there was a grill, but there wasn’t. A grill arrived the next day. Hot tub barely worked and was low on water. Jets was above water. This place was not ready to be rented out. I overpaid not very happy.”airbnb

“Fellow super host here - and hate to write a bad review but here’s the facts. Booked this place for the hot tub. Paid $480. Hot tub has not been cleaned or maintained. Scum build up on sides, full of hair and lent. Host offered another cabin - I went and looked at it and hot tub was green! Then he sends a cleaner and the kid spent 5 minutes taking a net to the water. What a joke. I asked for a partial refund of $150. Host only offers $66. Again….what a joke. He said nightly rate was $219, yet we paid $411 night rate?! We should have left at that point but we were tired from traveling and waiting to hear from customer support since our host could no longer talk to us at this point. He runs multiple rentals on this property but has no actual management skills. We then find a marijuana pipe & hair in the bed! There’s also a broken fridge in the kitchen. Stay clear of this host and all his rentals. He’s not helpful, and the hot tubs are not cleaned properly.”airbnb

“A truthful review, I was very excited for a month coming to this Airbnb. I arrived and the decor was beautiful. The hot tub was a very huge perk. Now upon cooking, the oven pans were dirty that I had to clean that were not from us. if I’m paying for a cleaner it should be CLEANED. Secondly, I opened my door the second day into my stay and there was 2 people all the way in my GATED backyard. Then I believe the owner was with them saying it’s OKAY, for them to be looking. The 2 people continued to say sorry we have this booked later and wanted to check it out. We still had the Airbnb for a WHOLE day. I was genuinely upset I did not have privacy/safety. I felt rush. We paid over 700$ to stay for two nights, that should NOT be acceptable. Lastly, my biggest concern with this stay is Indiana’s black wasps. I found THREE different ones in the house throughout my trip… we killed one. One landed on my Fiancé. It was coming in through the loft.”airbnb

“I was very underwhelmed with our experience. I booked the "Retro Ranch" a year before the trip, only to get a call from the host to tell us that AirBNB had double-booked our rental. Instead of sending details of a new rental house or confirmation through the AirBNB app after the phone call w/ the host, the first member of our group arrived to the "Retro Ranch" only to find a house full of men where a group of women were set to stay. That was a huge safety concern, imagine it had been the other way around. It took an angry phone call fresh off of the plane to get any info on a new property. Due to the rain, a leak in the living room ceiling began to open. I instantly attempted to contact the host and never heard ANYTHING back. And the cherry on top, there was a trip book for travelers to tell about their trip; looking through the book, we come find a very detailed page about this property being used as a meet up location for a large ORGY w/ 3 men, 1 women, info no one wants to know ever”airbnb

“Horrible host, didn’t respond to the concerns that I had. Place was dirty. Dismissed my concerns but messaged me way later about something else completely.”airbnb

“Host communication was okay, the place its self was very similar to the photos. The home was very beautiful and so was the location but simply not worth what was paid. I love staying at tiny cabins and homes and tbh this was the first to disappoint. Host is strict with check in-check out. Cannot check in until 4pm, and strictly out by 10am. Host charges $50 to arrive/ leave one hour early/late. I've never experienced this before especially not for the price of the cabin. The pond was very small and not like the pictures, there is a bunch of weeds in the way. Cooking is horrible, there is no vent in the kitchen and the windows dont help much. It gets very humid if your boiling water or taking a shower and takes a while to go away. The hot tub was great, the view was gorgeous, there horses were cute, parking was simple. Only provided one role of tissue, had plenty of towels. The fridge/freezer barley work. Overall not a bad stay but ive stayed in nicer for lesser with better amenities.”airbnb
