My Ocean Rental

“The house was perfect for our first family vacation. We rented because there were separate areas and we were not on top of each other. Enjoyed sitting out back, the kitchen was very spacious. Grandson enjoyed the hickory nuts and throwing off the deck. Area of improvement would be the chairs in the living room are dirty, tile in the bedroom above garage needs to be repaired, and not very kid friendly/safe.”

“We really enjoyed our stay in House A! The home was clean, the beds were comfortable, the views were beautiful, and the location was excellent. We also appreciated how promptly the host addressed the issue with the sink. House A was wonderful overall and made for a very enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, our experience in House B was not quite the same. The back door was broken, a tack strip was exposed in the flooring between the kitchen and living room, and the flooring throughout the house was noticeably uneven. The shower also felt unstable and raised some safety concerns. Additionally, we felt the pictures did not fully reflect the actual condition of House B. We truly appreciated the positive aspects of our stay, especially our experience in House A and the host’s responsiveness. We simply wanted to share our experience honestly and respectfully, as addressing these maintenance concerns would help improve the comfort and safety of future guests. Thank you for hosting us!”

“The Parking garage roof is failing and our car was covered in debris each day. Do not park in the garage. Unit itself was nice, view amazing and the location is wonderful. The building itself is in need of updates to common spaces. The elevator was broken the last two days of our trip.”

“Nice location, pretty views of ocean looking around the homes in front of it. The house is in dire need of updating. Not very safe for children under 5…no screens, rails, or doors on porch towards the ocean. Also a lot of rusty edges around things on the property. We did love being very close to the ocean to watch the surfers.”

“Great location and cute space. The house was pretty small but perfect for my husband and I. The house has two little houses on the property. This would be great if we brought our teenagers but they didn’t come for this trip. They are building a house right next door but fortunately for us, they didn’t do any building while we stayed there. All in all, I would totally stay there again.”

“An exterior sliding door was unsecured when we arrived and we could not fully close it. After making a call to management, they came the next day to secure it closed and we were told not to use it. We were not made aware of any plans to replace or properly repair the door. The apartment was clean, but we woke up with congestion issues and realized the AC filter was very dirty and we had to replace same”

“Great location.. super cute and comfy house. Be forewarned- you’ll have to bring basics such as toilet paper, trash bags, laundry detergent, salt and pepper - everything. They get you started and tell you that but we ran out quickly. The grill did not work but we improvised. Overall, was perfect for our needs and we’d go back 100%”

“The pool was the only thing redeemable about this place. It needs to be completely updated and needs a lot of serious maintenance. The ridge was hot when we arrived and all our groceries were going bad It took an insane amount of time for them to respond about this. All of communication was terrible with slow responses . The house smelled weird in the kitchen. Has water leaking from the ceiling onto the counter. Another leak coming from a light switch. The drain plug in the shower falling off. So many things terribly patched up and not addressed. This could be a great house if it was taken care of. The pool was my kids favorite part about our trip.”

“The property was beautiful and well-kept, but our experience was beyond disappointing. The host failed to disclose that the property is next door to an active construction site. Monday through Friday, we were woken at 8:00 AM by heavy equipment and loud noises. We couldn't enjoy the deck due to non-stop noise and had to buy beach chairs to escape it. This was a special graduation gift for my daughter who just graduated from the University of South Carolina. We booked well in advance, giving the host plenty of time to notify us. We would have never rented this property had we known. While we received a one-night refund, it doesn't come close to compensating for our disrupted stay. We couldn't sleep in or relax—the opposite of what we planned. As Airbnb owners ourselves, we would never misrepresent a property or fail to disclose such critical information. Transparency is essential, and this was a significant failure.”
