“We did a summer stay, and this place is more set up as a winter destination. There is no air conditioning which is generally OK as the temperatures don't get that hot - but while we were there it was relatively hot and humid. A couple of fans would have fixed the issue but there were none available (the description does note this and asks that you bring your own if you need them). The downstairs bedrooms were pretty musty and I think that could be solved with better ventilation. Some of the basics were missing - shampoo, hair dryer, etc. but there were a ton of kitchen appliances, utensils, and basic cooking supplies. Better bedding would have helped too - it was set up with heavy comforters for winter and poly sheets. Overall, this was an OK stay - there are better places but also worse. There was plenty of space for the four of us and beautiful views.”

“This was a great base of operations for trips to Spruce Knob and Blackwater Falls. It was clean and well laid out with plenty of space. Very private and peaceful. There was a bit of an odor that hits when you first walk in, but quickly went nose blind to it. The interior was clean and well cared for, but the exterior could have used some attention with lots of leaves and debris in the gutters and on the deck. The gravel roads leading back here kicked up a ton of dust so definitely don't plan on washing the car BEFORE you head out here 😂. The kitchen is very well equipped which was a big plus. We did attempt a fire in the fireplace but the provided wood wasnt quite seasoned enough and produced a lot of smoke. Might plan on bringing your own nice dry kindling and wood to get it started and use the on-site wood once you've got a piping hot base going. Overall we were comfortable here and found it to be a good location!”

“The house layout was perfect! This was more of a “camp” feel more so than a luxury stay because the house is in need of some updates and repairs, inside and out. Overall the house had a great layout, wonderfully stocked kitchen, and the location was beautiful!”

“Cozy, comfortable cottage but we didn’t spend much time inside. Enjoyed the hot tub and hearing the coyotes bark at night.”

“First I have to say, wonderful place, would highly recommend staying here! Second thing I’d like to say, remove the dead limbs hanging from the trees in the parking area. Around Wednesday at the tail end of the storm two branches fell and dented my roof, passenger door, and put a big dent in my a-pillar on my driver side.”

“Very secluded beautiful home. Needs lots of updates and a good cleaning service. Dead mouse was found in the washroom that smelled as if it had been there for weeks. Dust an inch thick on multiple surfaces. Not enough outdoor furniture for people to sit. Top level of Bunk Beds are inaccessible for children without removing an entire railing. No place for an outdoor fire pit. The "grill" was so rusted and dirty that it was completely unusable. But upside we did not see a single person all weekend and couldn't here any traffic and the hot tub was warm and clean.”

“We booked last minute to hike for Memorial Day. The location was convenient to many of the trails we wanted to see. Seems very unnecessary to go to the office to get the keys and back to return them when there is a keypad on the front door. The house was as listed with plenty of space and comfortable beds and a nice kitchen. The carpets in the bedrooms are stained and looking worn. The house needs a deep clean as the light fixtures are coated in dust and there were cobwebs in the doorways. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean so it didn’t bother us too much. The hot tub was in working order but did not have a bar to help get the cover off and there were no head pillows which made it less comfortable than it should have been. Also be aware you have to strip the beds, put a load of laundry in the wash, and drive the garbage down the hill to a dumpster before you leave. All in all, we had a great stay and the house was nice but just needs a bit of TLC for the price.”

“This was a very spacious clean house which matched the photos and description. The hot tub was lovely, and we could hear owls at night which was so special. However, the WiFi did not work at all during our stay. The smart tv would not connect, and the dvd player would not work either. Another thing is that the house was not kid proof.”
