Manager Review

Mountaintop Condos

Mountaintop Condos's guest rating of 4.74 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Overall, the stay was good. We were able to book on a discounted weekend near half price at the end of biking season and was decent value for the proximity to Snowshoe resort. Very happy to see this price. The space was great for our group of 6 and put together, there was some stains on sheets and occasional dirty dishes. I understand these things can happen with cleaning crews and the requirement of guest washed dishes. The host responded quickly and apologized and acknowledged the issue when I notified them. Was bummed when one of my guests ended up wanting to sleep on the couch due to nobody wanting to sleep in the stained bed. Overall, good stay, would come back on a discounted weekend. I'm sure I could stay at another location under Mountaintop Condos and not have any of these issues!”

“The place was ok. It was a little musty inside. Very small. I don’t think this worth the price. Especially when they ask me to strip the bed and clean the countertops.”

“Mostly pleased with the condo and facility, easy to find, get in and out, had everything you'd expect. My main complaint is about the hot tub. This is often the only thing I care about when booking an air bnb and big reason why I selected this place. True there is a hot tub in the building accessible to some. When I read the rules it looked like quiet hours were 11pm-7am. I hoped that hot tub would be open after 11pm, it wasn't, but I can understand that is what quiet hours means. BUT then we were excited to enjoy hot tub in the morning after 7am but it was locked. Bday bummer. There are 4 hot tubs total of which they only had 1 running during our fall stay. There were people using it in the evening, so it was available. But the door to the hot tub room was locked when we tried to go when it was empty. Either instructions were misleading or I'm not sure what happened. Also 10am check out time isn't ideal and there were inconsistencies to checkout instructions regarding trash and dishes”

“SUMMER STAYS BEWARE! This condo the "squeaky wheel grocery cart" version of an AirBnB. This condo advertises a/c, but sadly the small window a/c unit is too small to cool the condo, leaving the bedrooms too hot to sleep in. They also adverised ceiling fans which do not exist. From the write up and pictures, the future guests were led to believe that this is a well cared for condo by a sweet couple that cherish this unit. Have you ever seen an "insta-gram nice place" that looks good in pictures, but the reality is far from the pictures? The pictures are deceiving, giving the impression that the beds are larger than they actually are, although no mention of bed sizes were actually in the ad for the unit. The unit photographs well but the dirty baseboards, holes in the walls, inadequate a/c, and accurate bed sizing did not make it into the description. The view is pretty!”

“Place was clean. Instructions were thorough. However, it was raining. No one was at the gate. The intercom system wasn’t working. The staff working the location is ignorant, rude or dumb. Pick one. No instruction regarding having to provide certain details, Lic plate ex, requiring extra trips during down pour. Fin as kit get to the unit and it’s 84 degrees in the unit. I inquire about the ac. The staff says if it don’t have it, it don’t have it.”

“This was an amazing place to stay for our spring break ski trip to Snowshoe Mountain. It conveniently located to everything we needed. My only complaint is that the room was not located on the first floor as advertised. Everything else was as seen in the pictures and descriptions.”

“Very disappointed in the stay. The pictures definitely make it look more decent than it is. I wasn’t going in thinking this place would be top notch but to be honest it was run down and gross. The place needs major upgrades. Everything is old, worn down, smelly. There was mold all over on one of the shower curtains, the floor was coming up and toilet was leaking in the other. The living room/kitchen area was smelly and old. The carpet looked gross. The one corner looked like it was about to fall in. The screen door broken. And even though we went on an unusually hot weekend the rooms were unbearably hot with no A/C. The rooms are in the front so even opening the sliding door and window the cool air never reached those room. I will say the location was great, walkable to everything and they had everything you needed as far as food, coffee etc. but I disliked how you had to pay for the kids play area and the pool even if you go at 4pm. Felt like a ripoff.”

“The condo was as described, but did not feel as renovated as the photos appeared. The location was great, the ski lift was right outside and it was a true ski in - ski out. However, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. I understand this is not the owners fault, and more so the property management and cleaners, but upon arrival we immediately noticed dried urine on the toilet seat and multiple hairs in the shower. The bedroom was worse with multiple stains on the bed spread and hairs on the sheets. We felt uncomfortable using the bedspread and only slept with a sheet which still felt uncleanly due to the hairs we found. Yes, we could have reached out to the manager and asked them to make it right but that is beside the point. The place should have been cleaned to the correct standard in the first place. It is disappointing because it made it difficult to feel comfortable in the condo during our stay and we ended up leaving a night early.”

“The apt was adequate. Nice little balcony with a mountain view. But there were lots of little things that added up to a less than positive review. The bedrooms oddly have windows that open to the hallway which is a covered atrium with a children’s playground in it. You will hear children playing. One bedroom had a closet filled with stuff and no door. Not very pleasant to have a cluttered closet to look at and no place to put your belongings. Dishes were left in dishwasher and oven so they needed to be put away before starting your vacation. The housekeeping crew loudly congregated in hallway sitting on floor, taking breaks and eating.”
