“The Oars House was very clean and cozy. We initially thought it was right on the water, but was walking distance. I was disappointed that there wasn’t coffee available. Other than that, it was very nice and would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.”

“We really enjoyed this property. It is well located, close to the marina, restaurants and coffeehouses. Everything was very clean and well stocked. Everything seemed quite new and functioned well. Space was comfortable and well laid out.”

“We booked the place for the pool and fenced in yard. They told me the pool would be completed by April but it’s still not done. We showed up and also noticed there is no longer a fenced yard. So two big bummers to start. When we walked in there was a bad chemical smell throughout the whole house. They told us they were aware and provided one air purifier and to open the windows. Problem is that it was 50 degrees and rainy. Owners came and opened up the pool room doors (the smell was due to concrete being sealed) and told us they were aware and had been trying to air it out for days. When we woke up in the morning the smell was just as bad and we slept in the two furthest bedrooms from the pool area. We all had head aches and I didn’t want my small children breathing in the fumes anymore so we left after one night and found a new Airbnb to stay at. They really should have given a heads up since they were aware.”

“PROS: - walking distance to everything downtown. The thumb brewery is the best place down there - large backyard if you bring your dog and in ground bonfire pit. Wish we were told there was wood available tho - quiet area CONS: - the lock box died so we couldn’t get inside, we were instructed to get the spare key but we were NOT told that you can get locked out if the door closes (which it did) with our dog inside. If I didn’t have my phone on me, I honestly don’t know what we would’ve done! - the house had a gas smell the entire night and next day. The oven was used but everything was turned off so we don’t know where it was coming from - bed and couch were little outdated and lumpy/soft but I guess that’s a personal preference It was pretty bare. If more amenities were included I think it’d make the stay more worth it”

“The cabin itself is nice/cute and was very clean. Unfortunately there is a pretty significant lack of attention to detail. 1) The TV doesn't really work. The volume cuts in and out so you can't watch anything. 2) There is a nice hot tub in the back but the only door is in the front. You have to walk thru the muddy yard. There is no sidewalk or good way to get there. 3) There are no lights in the back so you can't see. If you want to sit in the hot tub in the evening, bring a flashlight 4) There are no washcloths or hand towels for the bathroom. 5) The freezer doesn't have an ice maker and there are no ice trays. 6) There is no oven, only a toaster oven which is extremely small. It wasn't a bad trip or a horrible place, but I would not return unless the owner spent some significant effort paying attention to details. Especially compared to the price paid in relation to other Airbnbs.”
