“Beautiful spot on the quieter side of mission beach, being on south mission gave us a lot of freedom in the water without a bunch of people in one spot. The house is cute and cozy, the lack of a/c is a bummer but each bedroom had a box fan. There was a small collection of beach toys but a lot of them were sun rotten or broke. The only issue I found was that people came by to do laundry (I’m assuming that worked for the rental company) nobody had told us that someone would be by so that was slightly unsettling. Other than that it was perfect for a small family who just wants to enjoy the beach and all its glory!”

“We loved the stay right on the beach”

“We stayed in this Airbnb and it was nice up until night time, it was really hot inside the Airbnb even with fans and the windows open. Also, we went out one night out into town for my 30th birthday and came back to a woman we didn’t know in the house robbing us of everything, including my engagement ring, we called the cops and the owners came as well. They were more worried about how many people were staying at the Airbnb rather than us just getting robbed. I had all my friends there at the time because we had just came back from going out. We had the correct people staying in the Airbnb but the matter of the fact is instead of asking if we were okay, they were worried about the wrong things. After that night, some birthday activities were ruined due to not feeling safe in the Airbnb. Please be careful of this place. The crazies around mission beach know how to get in.”

“Location of the townhome was fantastic, 5 stars. Cleanliness of the unit was barely 4 stars. However, the townhome has not been maintained in a long time, 3 stars. The rooftop deck furniture and railing were old and weathered, there was a very rusty satellite dish on the deck that looked as if it had been there a long time. The ceiling fans were dust encrusted and noisy. One bathroom fan didn't work, one was very noisy. The downstairs kitchen had a faucet that didn't work (landlord said a plumber was coming but never showed up. The vacuum cleaner filters were so caked with dust there wasn't any suction - I cleaned it.”

“Great location for a SoCal beach getaway”

“No Tv or internet for the 5 of 6 days. The place needs some tlc and it would be better. Pretty dated and worn out, lamp shades falling off, says sleeps 3 but couch was not comfortable at all. Furniture in the unit didn’t match the pictures in the listing, tables out side were very dirty, felt like those things should be done before somebody checks in.”

“Location, Location, Location. You can see the ocean from the living room. There is a ground floor side entrance walkway/alleyway to ocean. Walkable to many great restaurants. Shared patio with neighbors, but great place to watch sunset. As per the description on the house on the website - they do not provide anything. You will need coffee filters, charcoal for bbq, (no gas bbq that we could find), paper towels, maybe T.P., foil, plastic wrap etc, salt & pepper etc., laundry detergent…. They do have towels & small beach chairs. There is construction going on the next-door building. Great place to stay. Just know it is an older building, but the price reflects that.”

“Health hazard. The unit had black mold and water damage throughout. This unit will require a total renovation before being safely habitable. Location is great but the unit is not well maintained, outdated and hazardous. My whole family got sick and remained sick. On top of that, there were ants everywhere and the house didn’t even have salt, pepper, coffee or tea. There is a washer and dryer but no detergent provided. A half roll of paper towels, 2 toilet paper rolls and sample size body wash and shampoo. Vacation ruined as we were not able to do anything and were missing key necessities.”
