“Pros: Unit is very clean, cute & feels new. View of the marsh would have been beautiful if our trip hadn't lined up with a big storm. Great location (behind Pico Taqueria, YUM) and quick drive to the beach. Cons: By late Sept, the pool was completely green and murky. Area floods. Induction cook top did not work despite what we were told. Lack of communication during an emergency: Not long after booking (& 2 months before the trip) my fiancé ended up unexpectedly in the ICU & I realized I missed the 24 hour window to cancel for a refund. I reached out to Sherry & explained the situation to see if there was anything that could be done and did not get a reply. Almost a month later, I noticed I could request a date change and that was accepted promptly - but I found the lack of care and response during a very stressful time extremely unprofessional & rude. As a small business owner (& human), I know this is not the way to treat people. I would not book with Island Getaways again.”

“I really loved the location of the place, near local stores and restaurants. Very peaceful and quiet, especially with my crazy loud toddler. However we did leave a day early because of the weather, and being flooded in. Definitely will visit again, just in different weather”

“Sherry’s place was the perfect cozy home away from home during a very rainy, flooded weekend with the Noreaster on Chincoteague Island. We mostly stayed in and enjoyed the house, and it was a great place for that. The location was excellent as it was close to the beach—but the beach was sadly closed due to the storm.”
