Honua Kai Resort and Spa

“Honua Kai (host) has several units in the greater Honua Kai resort complex. We were assigned a ground floor unit which was wonderful! Unit was clean, bright and spacious. Large bedrooms and bathrooms. We did prepare meals there. Kitchen was large but somewhat minimally equipped - one frying pan, no salt and pepper.”

“Great condo and location. Enjoyed having a kitchen and washer and dryer and a beautiful balcony with a view of the ocean and resort.”

“We had some BIG issues. First, garage door was broken so couldn’t park in garage and had 2 cars. Initially told ok to park on side road next to condo but that was incorrect as we got 2, yes 2, parking warnings within 10 minutes! Mia, manager was NOT polite at first and didn’t think I understood what a marked rectangle parking spot shape was;TV not a smart tv so bring your own HDMI cable; BBQ was disassembled; outdoor motorized blind didn’t work so blinded if you use patio at dinner time; lots of mosquitos inside bathrooms when we got there. Security manager came later at night to say it had been reported that I felt harassed about parking warnings and he repeatedly told me “his guys were only doing their job.” I was tired of him raising his voice at me after I repeatedly asked him to lower his as my grand child was sleeping and told him that yes, getting 2 tickets in 10 minutes tells me your guys have nothing better to do. Grounds and pools are great!”

“As I mentioned in my communication, the view in the pictures did not match the view of our stay. Our view was the parking lot and a large oak tree!”

“We wanted one unit but got another. At first we were disappointed but the unit that they gave us was FANTASTIC and we won't stay in any other unit if we come back (that's the downside) because we realized how perfect it was for our family. While the price was quite high for our budget, we splurged and are grateful that we did. It was phenomenal to be right at the beach, in front of the pool, next to the restaurant, and spread out enough for 5 of us to have our own space. Loved every minute.”

“Wonderful place, some units need attention”

“The resort, space, and everything about this place is absolutely amazing. The price was reasonable. There is so much to do, see, eat in walking distance. We have recommended this place to so many others so far. We are already planning a trip back!”

“Great location and amenities. Place itself is spacious with a great ocean view. The furniture could use an update (couch stains, droopy mattress, cheep bedding and pillows) but this did not drastically take away from our experience. The washing machine leaked and after notifying the management no one ever came to fix.”

“Screen in master bedroom shattered. Master bathroom toilet leaked. Not enough seating, did not match the online pictures. Patio seating was limited and sheets did not fit bed in spare bedroom, twin bed pushed together. Couldn’t use oven, smelled like gas. Dishwasher doesn’t use the pods and doesn’t really clean the dishes. Great view, roomy, great location and good parking. AC didn’t work well, hard to control it he temp and we were denied late check out.”

“Had a comfortable stay. The rooms were as listed, though would have preferred a higher floor given we booked this a month in advance and stayed for a month! Having to call for housekeeping a day in advance and being given "complementary" 3 housekeepings for a stay of one month is ridiculous for a hotel/resort. There is no point spending $15K on a "resort", I'd rather stay in an apartment for half the cost.”
