“Second stay with Halo. Very responsive hosts. There were several issues with the guest portal having updated info (wifi & door codes), and getting in was a struggle. Any other issues were addressed immediately. Great location. This is an historic building, so with that in mind, there were some “old building” issues that they took care of. Be sure to check codes and passwords in advance so you don’t wait 30 mins trying to get inside. If you’ve stayed with them before, don’t count on them waiving your verification despite requesting.”

“Overall, the stay was good for the price and a decent value. However, there were a couple of issues worth mentioning. The AC gave off an unpleasant smell, and there was a very strong cat litter odor coming from the neighboring unit. Aside from these inconveniences, the stay was fine. With a few improvements, it could be a much better experience for future guests.”

“Low lights: mattress was an issue as it was sunken in and my wife and i kept kinda rolling into to eachother. I’m not sure if its the unit or the apartment as a whole. But i can only describe the smell as “cat litter” Aside from That everything was great. It was very clean and in a very convenient location. There are things within walking distance to check out. And all The amenities were working just fine. I would recommend it but it does need a new mattress, and maybe some sort of scent plug in for the unit.”

“My family and I enjoyed our recent stay! The home was well maintained and included all of the described amenities. Both the check-in and check-out processes were smooth. The only (very minor) complaint that we have is that all of our feet (my toddler’s included) were black after walking barefoot throughout the house. The floors could use a generous mopping! :) Overall, we were pleased and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.”

“I would strongly recommend taking photos on entry to avoid being accused of bringing a pet and that so called pet making a mess. The management wanted to charge us an extra $500 cleaning fee for pet damage when we choose to stay here for work only. Our shoes were removed on the back porch before entering. The shower curtain in the main floor bath had some mold spots and there was some dust under furniture. The location and price is very fair for accommodating work or vacation purposes, appliances are modern (we did use them on our visit), and our team thought the beds were comfortable.”

“The building reeked of cat pee the whole time we were there. Just something we lived with. Getting into the building means grabbing a physical key from a lockbox, so you're carrying that around all weekend, and then the unit itself uses a door code, so it's this weird two-step system that doesn't need to exist. Place itself is old and run down, and the bed sags so badly in the middle you basically roll toward the center all night. Check-in was the worst part. We showed up an hour early, unit was already clean and ready to go, and instead of just letting us in they tried to charge us a $25 early check-in fee. We'd already paid $1,700 for two nights (busy football weekend), so would have been nice if they’d just let us in, so we ended up hauling everything to a nearby brewery to kill an hour. On top of that they make you use some clunky online system. I'm usually an easy five-star review, so it takes a lot to get me typing something like this.”

“Dirty laundry upon arrival that we had to wash. Informed our host at booking that 3 of us girls would be staying and only two clean folded towels were available. The rest were dirty. We had to wash the pull out couch bedding because that was also dirty. Only the next morning did they offer to bring fresh bedding. The muffin tin they provided had food residue on it as well as some of the silverware. When I had a parking issue called emergency line and they were unhelpful and said they would submit a ticket. Next morninv I was treated poorly and was questioned on why I paid for parking. They did refund me my parking. On top of everything else we had to use a third party site to gain access info and had to call twice to opt out of their marketing emails in order to verify my id. Overall complications and slow to answer and who knows if the bedding we did sleep on that we didnt wash was clean.”

“Halo team was first unresponsive when attempting to check in early after paying the amount up front. Secondly when contacted to ask if we would be able to check in early, staff was rude and barely assisted. Once arriving to the unit after crossing through a homeless encampment underneath the bridge and our uber driver marking us about the surrounding area, we noticed a strong odor of mildew then inspected the window sill to find it completely rotten. This window has also located above the bed. When reporting the issue to Halo, they were again rude and unwilling to assist in the situation and denied it being rotten and moldy. We felt unsafe considering the smell and rotten wood next to the bed, thankfully there was a hotel that could accommodate us for the remainder of our stay. We were in the unit for maybe a total of 1 hour, would not recommend anyone to stay in one of Halo’s locations. Awful experience.”

“Honestly a bit disappointed. This house is run by a management company who was not very responsive and would charge $25/hr if you requested early check in, which we requested and they never answered us so we had to wait around for hours. The house was full of cobwebs and not well stocked. Additionally, it claims to be walkable to downtown - it technically is, however, it is an unsafe area and pretty run down. Overall not worth the price I paid for this weekend and I wouldn’t return.”
