Manager Review

Grand Mountain Rentals

Grand Mountain Rentals's guest rating of 4.78 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The location was perfect right in Grand Lake and close to everything we wanted to do. The house was comfortable and had what we needed. The only things we noticed were that the dryer heated up but didn’t fully dry clothes, and there were a few food wrappers in and around the property.

This cabin was small but had everything we needed. Its location was great-only a few blocks from the Main Street and the lake. It does need a little upkeep-broken drawers, table and lights that didn’t work so it was very dark. It could use a good deep cleaning-cobwebs and dirty base boards. The bed was comfortable.

Very nice, very comfortable 2 bed/2bath with all needed amenities. Was able to keep the unit cool with open windows and provided fans. Extremely close to local market but does take driving into town if any parties have limited mobility.

Overall, we had a nice time at this home but it is definitely in need of some upgrades and repairs. There was ample space for the 10 of us and it was nice that each bedroom has its own designated bathroom. However, the house isn't being kept up very well. Upon check in we sent a list of items we found that were not working well -- windows that couldn't be adjusted since they were broken, missing screen on the patio door, holes in the couch pillows so stuffing was falling out, gashes in the couch. We never received a reply back. After staying the weekend, we noticed that none of the beds had box springs and the mattresses weren't great. Additionally, kitchen pans were rusty, the upstairs sink continuously dripped, the grill was so greasy that we had to burn it off before using, and 2 out of the 3 fans were broken. We purchased a new one for the house partway through our trip. You can tell the house was once nice but it just isn't being kept up to justify the cost.

Check in was pretty clear and house was stocked fine. I would say accommodations in general were fine. The street behind the house gets loud and cars go pretty fast on it so location isn’t peaceful. Our stay was disrupted by a utility power outage, which I understand was outside the property manager's control. What was disappointing was how the situation was handled. I called simply to ask whether the utility or owner had provided any estimated restoration time so we could decide whether to wait, protect our food, or make other arrangements. Instead of trying to help or gather more information, the representative was dismissive/rude. The outage also meant we had no running water, so the toilets, sinks, and showers were unusable. I later emailed the agency to express my concerns about the interaction and never received a response. While I don't fault them for the outage itself, I do expect courteous communication and reasonable support during an unexpected situation.

My husband and I have rented 20+ AirBnBs and this one was not a 5 star experience. On the positive side: the hillside location and views of Shadow Mtn Lake are beautiful. On the other hand we were disappointed to find that the owner’s personal belongings were in every closet and in the bedroom drawers; every surface was obstructed by clutter and/or decor items. The dryer needs maintenance: cycle knob came off in my hand. The cushioned patio furniture was unclean and soaking wet, and the patio that appears in the photos to be shaded has one of two umbrellas broken. Future renters should know from the outset that they will be dumping their own trash in town (a few miles away) at the dumpster behind the property manager’s office. The requirement to dump trash off-site is something that renters should be made aware of prior to renting. The home’s amenities listed on AirBnB should be updated to reflect actual functioning and usable amenities (bathtub, closets, dressers, dryer, etc)

This place is a wonderful base camp for adventures on the west side of RMNP and other places in the Grand County area. It has all the essentials and was comfortable and quiet. Two bathrooms (one full, one half) is also a big plus for a unit of this size. And we loved sitting on the back deck and just watching what was happening on the two lakes, or watching the light change on the mountains to the east of the lakes. Make sure you are up at around sunrise to see if there is lake fog. We were lucky enough to see one sunrise like that, and it was mesmerizing to watch the fog burn off and the details reappear.

Adorable place in a great, walkable location! There are two downsides to renting it in summer: 1) No air conditioning. Though this may be common, this particular place was REALLY stuffy in mid-July, even with all the windows open. It was almost impossible to sleep. There is a (rather noisy) ceiling fan and separate personal fan, but the place desperately needed more air circulation. 2) Security. Because it was so hot and stuffy, we had to leave the windows open every day that it didn’t rain. We had to store all our valuables in our car. The bedroom screen was very loose. Upon inspection, we noticed that it was merely tacked down with staples. The place is cute, and the size and amenities were fine for our needs, but I wouldn’t book it again in summer. Also, the door is really hard to lock. I was completely unable to do it; my husband had to every time.

We loved Grand Lake! Sagebrush bbq was phenomenal, so phenomenal we ate there 3 nights in a row. Our stay with Grand Mountain rental was ok. With there being no air conditioning, you have to sleep with your windows open which would be fine but the noise outside the master bedroom is very loud. Also the master bedroom bed squeaks with every movement so we didn’t get the best rest there. There was no hand soap available in the kitchen or the guest bathroom so our daughters had to use our restroom the whole time so they could wash their hands. We did love the games that were provided. We accidentally made it back home with the parking pass which it stated on the pass it was a $5 replacement fee however we had to pay $25 so that should be changed on the future passes to be more clear.
