“We really enjoyed our stay at Going Coastal in Kure Beach. The location was fantastic—right on the beach with amazing views, and it is at the end of the beach which makes it very peaceful. The condo was also very spacious. There were a few areas that could use some attention. The condo could have been cleaner upon arrival. Parking was also a little challenging at times due to where other condo owners need to park. Might be tough if you have a large vehicle. The only other downside was the noise from the unit above us. We could hear every movement made. It made it difficult to sleep at times. I realize this is more of a building issue than the fault of the condo itself but definitely something you should be aware of if needing a quiet place.”

“We had a great stay and especially loved the beach view and ease of access to the beach! The beach was not crowded and felt more private than other beaches in the area. The Community Center was also really easily accessible, and we had a great time in the pool. It would have been great if the Airbnb had a few more amenities such as beach towels and more toiletries.”

“Unfortunately, our stay had several issues that were disappointing, especially considering what we expected from a beach rental. When we arrived, the floors and steps were noticeably dirty. This was particularly frustrating because the owners/management knew ahead of time that we would have a crawling baby staying with us, so having clean floors was important. On our first morning, the power went out, and the breaker box sparked, which was extremely concerning from a safety standpoint. We also had an AC leak downstairs that needed attention. Then, on our second morning, we woke up to an overwhelming amount of ants all over the food we had left on the kitchen counter. We understand that bugs can occasionally be an issue at beach properties, but the amount of ants we encountered was excessive, and we ended up having to throw food away. It was frustrating to encounter so many cleanliness, maintenance, and safety issues within the first two days of our vacation. The”

“The house was dirty when we arrived. The floor was covered in hair and dirt. There was no bath towels or hand towels. They gave us access to the owners closet for towels and they were all wet and smelled moldy. The washing machine was covered in mold. The master bathroom ceiling had mold over the shower. The outside trash can was filled to the top. The mattress covers had yellow stains on them. When I asked before we arrived they said they had a Keurig so I brought k cups and once we got there it was a regular coffee maker so we had to go get more coffee. They also said there was no grill but there was one downstairs. They only reimbursed us $100 for this which was unacceptable. The good things were great location, good ac, and lots of dishes to use in the kitchen.”

“The location, layout, and amount of space were excellent and worked very well for our family. The home is in a great area and had plenty of room for everyone. Unfortunately, cleanliness was a significant issue during our stay. The washing machine had visible mold buildup, there was mold present on the ceiling in the master bathroom, and we found hair on multiple beds upon arrival. Basic supplies were also very limited, with only one garbage bag and one dishwasher detergent pod provided for the stay. Overall, the house has a lot of potential because of its location and layout, but the cleanliness and maintenance issues need to be addressed. If those items were resolved, this would be a much easier property to recommend.”

“We’ve stayed in several other units in this same building, which made some of the differences here more noticeable. While the unit is clean and visually nice, it lacks some of the practical touches that made other stays more comfortable. There is only one nightstand for a king bed and it’s not near an outlet, which makes it difficult for two people to charge devices. There’s also no dresser or meaningful storage. Amenities are very minimal—only one towel and washcloth per person, with no extras. The towels were individually wrapped in plastic, which felt unnecessary, and were also quite rough. There were no basic items like shampoo or a hairdryer. The listing mentions extra linens and pillowcases, but we did not find any, although there were extra pillows. Check-in is later and check-out earlier than other units in the building, with no flexibility for early check-in. Overall, it’s a clean space, but compared to other units here, it feels less equipped and less guest friendly.”
