“I don’t normally write bad reviews, but I feel like I have to on this one. First thing we noticed upon arrival was the temperature in the unit. It was hot. We tried adjusting the thermostat but that made no difference. We literally had to use all of the stand up fans just to be somewhat comfortable. Second thing, I get a call from the front office on day 2 stating that a technician will be coming to fix the dryer. When the technician gets there he says they have to order a part to fix the dryer which will take about a week! A lot of good that will do us, we’ll be gone before then! So, that lets me know that you guys rented this place out knowing the dryer wasn’t working, because we had not attempted to use the dryer yet. Lastly, the dishwasher did not work! Like OMG…. I mean this is the worst place we have ever stayed by far! We normally stay in the condos on Morningside when we come to Padre, but the place was already booked, so we settled for this place. BIG MISTAKE! 2/10”

“The place was run down and a bit smelly. It had the owners food in the pantry and there was a dirty towel on the pantry floor with paper under it, there was a sewage smell coming up from the master bathroom shower and the back door was broken and one of the keys did not work. Everything was a bit dusty as well. They did come and clean up the towel mess in the pantry on day 2. It seems like less of a rental and more of a family's personal condo that they occasionally rent out. The management company was responsive via the airbnb app, but did not fix the issues beyond picking up the dirty towel. I love this complex but will look for a different condo next time.”

“It was so hot upstairs the ac was broken and the power went out one night for 4 hours everything else was amazing other then that.”

“Condo itself was clean and organizedand Had vacation vibes. The only thing we did not appreciate is that the housekeeping was not that good. Sheets with stains (happy we always take our sheets ) and fridge was not clean . I had to clean some of the areas myself but otherwise we did enjoy our staying and if coming back to spi we will choose sunchase again . No insect or flies or cockroaches so Happy me 😂 Again Thanks for your service”

“Overall a good stay and we would book again. Loved the private stretch of beach with easy access and beautiful views. Loved this kitchen and two story layout - suitable for a small family. No one’s fault, but when we arrived, the air conditioning on the second level was not working and it was 80°. Owner responded promptly, but ultimately wasn’t resolved until a couple days later because of the holiday. Once the HVAC unit was replaced, the maintenance team left a mess behind. The amount of back and forth and visitors in and out was a headache. I had to ask that they make it right, which they did give a small refund, but didn’t initially offer it. There are some parts of the home that need updating, or repair like the broken closet door and ceiling fan. The HVAC sound in the secondary bathroom upstairs is incredibly loud, we kept the door closed. Some street noise over the busy holiday weekend. I’d recommend providing liquid soap at every sink instead of the tiny bars.”

“The condo was in a great location. There was quite a bit of construction going on at the complex next to us (that can't be helped I understand) so the noise level in the morning was less than peaceful when enjoying the view from our balcony. The location of the condo was great. There was easy access to the pool and to the beach and we loved both things. The condo could use some updating for sure. The carpet in the bedrooms looks and feels very old. I do understand we are at the beach and there is sand and such, but it did seem dirty. The bathrooms are in need of an update as well. We felt safe and had a good time, but the price was a bit high for the accommodations. (We were there on a holiday weekend so that may influence that - but still a little high for the quality and space.) The AC unit outside of the master bedroom does work but is completely rusted over from top to bottom.”

“nice place, patio door does lock or close easily had to spray it. no extra toilet paper, bring your own shampoo, conditioner and body wash, its nice and cute but not worth the amount. its privet and quiet”

“Been to Sun Chase before and loved it. The unit we wanted was not available. We looked for availability in the same price point, not wanting "less than" expected. What helped us choose 512 were all of the 5 star reviews. I think they must be from a totally different unit. It was several things that gets this a poor grade. There was a strong food cooking smell as we walked in, it was stronger upstairs, lasted days The towels, flatware, utensils, cooking ware and coffee pot seemed garage sale quality bought many years ago. The AC control would stop working when messed with. The toaster needs to be held down for a second toast. Messaged ABB about issues & told new toaster coming and work ticket made for AC. Neither happened. The sleeping couch was nasty, deep stains and grimy feeling. Master bathroom drain emitted sewage smell. Small kitchen. Enter walking sideways!!? One positive. Beds were comfortable. However, the sheets and pillows were not. Choose a different unit if possible.”

“Sunchase IV was amazingly beautiful. The surroundings were awesome, the restaurants were conveniently located, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. We use Airbnb everywhere we travel, both internationally and within the states, so we truly appreciate a well-kept property and great location. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with unit 716. The unit was extremely dirty and had a terrible smell upon arrival. The couches were filthy, the living room rug was dirty, and the bedding — including the extra bedding — smelled awful, a musty smell, as if it had never been washed. It’s such a beautiful layout and such a pretty unit, which made it even more disappointing to see it not being properly cared for or maintained. The condo also appears to need general maintenance and upkeep. With proper cleaning and attention, this unit could match the beauty of the property itself.”

“This condo has a beautiful layout, beautiful view, beautiful outdoor space, staff is very responsive. But the living furniture is very uncomfortable and flimsy. My GF tripped over this stubby end table and cut her leg. Couch slide apart while sitting on it. Beautiful outdoor space is wasted by the poor cheap furniture so nowhere to relax in this wonderful space. Bathrooms outdated which is fine, one of the toilets not working. Condo is also very bare and not cozy. Everything is basically empty. There is no beverages or snacks like you find in most condos, no beach towels or accessories, no ice so you better have all that stuff. It is also a very long walk to the beach. Also had a 10 AM checkout which is too early. Asked to extend and was told no even after all these issues. Great location and view if you don't care about being comfortable or not spending a lot of time there and just sleeping but have stayed in other condos in SPI that are much better at that price point”
