Manager Review

GetAway

GetAway's guest rating of 4.46 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there were a few things that could have been improved. The apartment was a little difficult to locate once we arrived, especially since we were not provided with a map or very clear directions. We had also asked about early check-in and were told we would be updated if it became available, but we never heard back. Communication/customer service was slower than expected, so at times we had to figure things out on our own. Another concern was that the apartment door was unlocked when we arrived, which was a little unsettling from a safety and security standpoint. Our biggest concern was cleanliness upon arrival. We noticed hairs on some of the pillows, which made us unsure about the cleanliness of the bedding and comforter. Clean sheets and pillow covers provided, which we appreciated, but it was unclear whether the comforter had been freshly washed. Aside from those issues, the place itself was enjoyable. We appreciated having air conditioning and TVs

If the public posting for this cottage was accurate, we would never have booked it. This community is 55+ and almost all amenities are 18+, so if you have kids, you get a small, yucky pool and a fire pit; that's it. Also, many of the neighbors clearly do not appreciate kids in the community at all. We were followed, verbally questioned, and just overall not welcomed. We are a family of 4, with a 4- and 7-year-old. The host (or company?) was totally unresponsive and ignored our concerns - we ended up going to Airbnb, who did help. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Tree House at Okemo was wonderful. Plenty of space so all 16 of us were comfortable no matter where we were. The response time from home away was inconsistent and a bit confusing. For example, we asked for early check in and the code to get in. One response was that I needed to sign the rental agreement for the code but I had already done that. Then another response acknowledged the signed agreement and ok to check in early; then a third response asked for the signed agreement again for the code and a 4pm (normal) check-in time. Regardless, the house was very spacious, clean and exactly what we were looking for. Only friendly comment would be a recommendation to change out the shower heads and curtain/liners and add a few extra trash bags and hand towels. Beds were delightful.

To be honest, this was an amazing place to stay. It was so peaceful, simple, quiet, and spacious at the same time. When I first checked in, I was surprised that it looked EXACTLY like the photos online. Also, it says it has 3 Bedrooms, but it is actually 4, which was great, especially for what I paid. But something could be improved, for example, when we arrived, the bed was not made, so we had to make the bed ourselves, which is not ideal after a long day of traveling. Also, the wifi and service overall were kind of slow in certain rooms. Overall, the place was very nice and worth the price.

Televisions were tough to navigate and would have liked more cleaning supplies but the house was phenomenal and so fun to stay at!

Place was in a perfect location right by the mountain. A plus was the amenities like the hot tub/steam room/sauna. Also bus to k1 and snow shed lodge pull up right in front of the building. Only thing that could of been better was communication, felt like I was receiving an AI answer in every message and it was only answered every morning, other then that good spot for a couple people.

This property would've been great, but we ran into a few issues that made it less than satisfactory. Upon arrival we found the driveway unplowed. This listing should mention that 4x4 vehicles are REQUIRED during winter season (not just recommended) as the road leading to the Airbnb is a steep hill and would've been inaccessible without 4x4. Took us a few tries to get up. After entering the house and inspecting the bedrooms we found hair all over the pillows and sheets (it seemed as though they had not been changed since the last guests). We reached out to the host about this and they didn't provide new sheets until the next day at noon! There was also a diesel smell in the house that gave us headaches and we found quickdry by the oil tank in the basement. Assuming it was leaking. This needs to be fixed. The warm water in the showers also had a weird smell. The house itself was comfortable for 8 people and the location superb. If these issues are addressed this property would be 5 star.

Pico is a wonderful place for families with kids learning to ski and the location is fantastic, we had a great week. Unfortunately everything in the apartment itself is pretty dated and bare bones. I would opt for a different unit at Pico and would probably avoid anything managed by Getaway properties, but in a pinch it's fine. Our main issue was that Getaway aggressively pushed a grocery delivery service and when we arrived the groceries were not there. The email confirmation indicates they were delivered at 12:42 am the night before we set to arrive (no idea why). Most likely, they left the groceries outside and the property threw them away, but Getaway consistently said it was not their responsibility despite 4-5 emails from Getaway advertising this service as "linked to your rental." I still have not received an email response or a phone call from the delivery company and their web form doesn't work and there is no phone number. I am now left to deal with a credit card dispute.
