“This condo is mediocre at its best. Tile floors are very cold and need some throw rugs. King bedspread had a large blood stain at the end of the bed. Saw 2 live large roaches during stay. There was an active leak in ceiling from condensation and the unit is very outdated. The grounds were old looking but well kept and there was a beautiful board walk to the beach with several outdoor shower areas for rinsing off the sand! We wouldn’t mind trying a more updated and cleaner unit in the same complex as it was very centrally located to the beautiful town of Fernandina!”

“Nice stay. Pictures made it seem bigger than it was and they were missing small touches like a dirty towel left behind, no laundry detergent in the little laundry box and no coffee filters to use for the one packet of coffee they provided.”

“The positives: the unit is steps to the beach and the walking trail. The negatives: the unit is tired, old and desperately in need of a refresh with absolutely no attention to detail. The unit does not include beach towels, beach chairs or inflatables and bringing towels on flights is just inconvenient. While the property has a few beach chairs available for use, it does not include the tetanus shots that would be required to use said chairs. During our stay, the upstairs heel-walking neighbors / renters were up late and up again by 4am making sleep difficult. Upon arrival, the unit was filthy, unvacuumed, trash in the can, patio table covered in filth, toilet paper half gone, paper towels empty, etc… We contacted the rental company who advised that the cleaner had a family emergency and had to leave before cleaning was competed. They refunded 10% of what we paid for the inconvenience which was not enough. My best recommendation is look to elsewhere as better options exist.”

“Great amenities, but sewage smell when using washer. Trip hazard due to uneven flooring. We had to leave a day early because the toilets didn’t have water pressure to flush. Several light sockets didn’t work and one shorted out. We can not recommend this, for the price.”

“My only real issue was the pool was under renovation and we were not told till the night before arrival! We were also told Sanddollar Shotes was under agreement to share their pool, this was not the case!”

“Left and then four hours later they message me saying i owe $250 for property damage and then i ask to see the damage and they ignored me completely then i ask again and they haven’t responded. I would have no problem paying for something if i broke it but they have refused to send pictures or videos of the broken items”

“This home is beautiful and comfortable indoors and out. We easily biked around the neighborhood, walked to the beach, and stopped for coffee. We also cooked all of our meals there. Even being sensitive to odors and cleaners I found everything very comfortable and inviting. That being said it is somewhat difficult to find, there is truly only one parking space, and the management company never responded to our messages. If you arrive early to enjoy the location the beach path is just put of the lagoon villas and to the right. We had an issue with the fridge filter alarming and no ice was made while we were there. Other than cooking knives the place was very well appointed, easy and comfortable. The landscape is beautiful and there is a nice area to sit outside as well.”

“The Airbnb was clean, affordable, and the location worked well for our group during a wedding trip to Amelia Island. Since we were out most of the day, it served its purpose as a place to sleep and gather. That said, there were a couple of significant issues. There was a very strong sulfur smell whenever we used the kitchen sink or showers, and it lingered. Not sure if this is normal for this area but was quite off-putting. The last night of our stay, we had a plumbing issue. We contacted the host right away and never received a response. Overall, the home met our needs but these issues did affect the experience.”

“We had an overall decent stay at this location. Unfortunately, there were a lot of things that were not quite up to our expectations, based on what was shown in the listing. Swimming pool listed, pictured, even gives you the “pool code,” but the entire pool area was completely out of order, pool was empty, and halfway demolished. Also shown in the photos and amenities list is a washer and dryer, which was not present in the unit. Carpet and placemats were stained, blinds were broken. Overall, the location in proximity to downtown and the beach access was wonderful, neighbors seemed friendly, and it felt like a safe location, but we felt as though we were deceived somewhat by what the listing showed.”
