“The unit looked great in photos, but was not as marketed. Mold spores around the window. Smell of cigarettes. Bathroom wasn’t clean. It’s a very bad flip of an old tenement house.”

“If you're looking for a less expensive place to stay, shop around. The pictures were so well done that I thought it was a different place when we got there. The beds were clean and the HVAC worked well. On a scale of 1-10 quietness, I'd say aside from the occasional helicopter landing on the hospital nearby it was about a 5. I got the feeling they tried to fit as many bnb's in this place as humanly possible. There was insufficient silverware so we just ate out. The batteries in the two remotes in the one room were dead or very low the AC remote readout was not legible. The house has a lot of age and ware and tear on it. VERY step narrow steps inside and getting up to the room. There were some nicer looking fixtures but they needed maintenance, loose handles, legs, etc. It was hard to see much maintenance care and concern for the place. There was no trash laying around but it didn't feel clean, perhaps that's just the age. All the 5 star reviews do not seem right. "Bare minimum"”

“There were stains on the bedding, the couch cushions were very dirty in between when I reached to grab my phone between them. They had not been vacuumed. I liked the privacy of the down stairs living area and it was an easy walk to local bars. One of the reason we had chose this spot was the driveway. We were encouraged to use the driveway by the hosts. Upon arrival someone else was parked there. I asked the host why someone was parked there when we were told to utilize the space. They told us to feel free to use street parking. Which would have been completely fine if it wasn’t encouraged and advertised as private parking. Noises from the upstairs unit travels and is very loud. Things just could have been communicated better and updated. The fencing around the property has fallen so if you plan on bringing kids or animals keep that in mind! Beautiful older home that has had some touch ups overall. Great walking distance to Haynies corner.”

“Beds were clean and comfortable; quiet neighborhood. Needs THOROUGH cleaning and maintenance done. Missing/burned out light bulbs on several light fixtures; vents very dirty; hair in shower; dirty dishes in dishwasher; back yard was terrible… trash; dead cockroach in living room; dustballs; wine glasses covered in dust and grease; back door lock didn’t seem secure at all. Only one towel for each guest, no blankets. Couldn’t find a hair dryer. There was an unmarked jar which I assume was coffee. When we left there was water coming up in the front yard and running into the street. No refund was offered but a partial refund is to be returned at my request.”

“We reserved 6 nights. While planning we noticed very limited rentals in area, most likely due to Fall Festival going on that week. When we arrived we noticed a very distinct cigarette smoke smell in the house - which our family is sensitive to. Additionally, there were good appliances and utensils, but only 1 pot, one 8in pan and 3 bakeware sheets. This was not enough to cook for family of 4. Beyond that, the kitchen was mostly bare - no leftover spices, cooking spray, food wrap, etc that we often find in other rentals. Very limited. Owner agreed to bring more cookware but we left after 2nd night due to a new issue. Given high cost of our 6 night travel to IN, we could no longer try and make this property work. Property manager was responsive and provided refund. Appreciated it. A sidenote, but photos are not up to date, and it appears all pre-2023 reviews of property are from different management. Mentioned in other reviews - traffic noise is very real, but we began to tune out.”

“Our entire experience was a complete disaster. Upon arrival. There were five non-English speaking people in the lobby and were checked into our room. Needless to say we did not stay there, and they never even followed up after we declined their offer of another place to see if we had found arrangements. We were traveling dealing with a funeral and I’ve never had a worse experience. I could say much more, but I’ll leave it at that. I would never book with them again and obviously they have several places that they host nearby.”

“All the furniture and blinds were falling apart, I found multiple screws in the carpet when I first arrived, there is insulation popping out of most walls and there’s a terrible smell of trash outside, none of the pictures actually matched the unit and the fridge and water heater were constantly loud. This was a very unenjoyable stay”

“The host had someone bring us kitchen towels a couple hours after checking in and realizing there were none, which we greatly appreciated, and was very friendly in general. There are multiple things in and around the property that need to be cleaned/cared for better - the most obvious being the bathroom and yard, which aren’t the end of the world. But the most concerning thing was we saw a few cockroaches, and for that alone we had to give this place a low rating and feel it necessary to make a public review. That is a very serious problem.”

“it wasn’t to bad but the place smelled like weed and there was a bored in the floor that was up and someone keep falling there was a big old spider”

“This was in an older part of town and the building is generally in disrepair. The WiFi stopped working the first day and was not corrected. I was asked to contact the people in another Apt to have the modem power cycled. It was not my place to have to do that but no one answered the door when I tried anyway. At that point we canceled our reservation after day two and left. There were open trash containers in front of the building attracting many birds. The kitchen floor needed to be mopped when we arrived and the silverware was not adequate for 3 people, ie, there was only one fork and was not corrected before we left. The beds were very squeaky disturbing others trying to sleep. We will not be back.”
