Escape to Blue Ridge

“The staff at blue ridge were very accommodating and answered quickly to our issues and did what they could to get their team out quickly for repairs and we do greatly appreciate that. Under the bed and around things seemed pretty dirty/dusty. The porch had cob webs everywhere including all over the patio table so it definitely seemed like it wasn’t cleaned appropriately upon our arrival. The hot tub only worked 2 out of the 5 days we were there which was extremely frustrating considering that was one of our filters in choosing this cabin. The toilet from up stairs leaked through roof downstairs. The plumbing also backed up into the toilet/floor and tub in the downstairs bathroom which was also frustrating and only half of the arcade games worked… also one reason we chose this cabin because we had 8 kids with us.. we paid a lot of money to rent this cabin and were more disappointed than we should have been. We came for vacation and honestly it felt like work half the time”

“Beautiful stay and location. When we arrived in blue ridge it was storming really bad. We asked to get in early and were told no but they could call when it was ready. They never called so we did wait until 4pm checkin and immediately noticed tons of dead killer bees and daddy long legs all around the outside of the property. But bugs were to be expected. Daddy longlegs were all over outdoor furniture and screen. Also not a huge deal, just annoying. The cleaning crew left a lot of cobwebs up inside the property, as well as a dirty dust rag on the stairs and the bathroom sink didn’t drain. We reported this but informed team that we didn’t need anyone to come as we were only there 2 nights. Everything else was beautiful and clean. Only other thing was when we were checking out a pest control company showed up and was spraying the property while we were loading up. They asked my husband some questions but we informed them we were renters. I would stay again for a better price! Thank you!”

“The location, landscaping and hardscaping was impeccable! The pool and hot tub were incredible and certainly the selling point for this property. My main complaint would be the cleanliness. There were under garments left in the main bath hamper from previous guests. The bathroom mirrors also had spots on them as did the shower glass. I would recommend hiring different cleaners. The hosts were also slow to respond. Some questions we never got answers to. It also would have been nice to have equipment for doing s’mores down at the fire pit. Overall, we really enjoyed our trip!”

“This is likely my 100th place to stay in the GA mountains. I try to go once a month or more. I’ve stayed in a variety of cabins and homes. In all of my reviews of all Airbnbs, I’ve rarely been so disappointed. The management was extremely slow to respond and never responded or provided check in instructions. I finally found the in an email. From walking in, the place is extremely dirty/dusty with tons of cobwebs. There were cockroaches around the sink. No not palmetto bugs. There are some type of critters living inside as there is a nest in one of the wardrobes and something knocked over everything on the upstairs sink. We could hear feet running for hours. This could be a super lovely place. So much potential but really needs cleaned. The amount of dust everywhere and the amount of cobwebs were kind of sad especially when I’m 5’2” and could take some down on my own. The dishwasher is broken. Bed downstairs comfortable. Amazing view of water and easy check-in and easy drive to place”

“This was a great alternative to the original cabin we booked, which was cancelled on us last minute. Check-in instructions were clear, the place was as-described, parking was plentiful, the property was accessible by all vehicle types & there was adequate space for our group. The top bunks were unmade when we arrived although linen was provided. There was also a bit or trash in a few places. Overall, this was a great stay and I’d stay here again!”

“It was a beautiful place. Plenty of room. Great views. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We didn’t use the hot tub but it was nice to have the option. The only complaint was there was tons of dog hair all over the inside couch and all outside furniture. We found a small vaccum that we had to clean out prior to using to clean up the hair. The rental company offered to send someone out the next day but we cleaned it up to utilize the furniture that evening so there was no point in having someone come the following day. Other than the dog hair issues we had no problems and enjoyed the place.”

“Hot water went out during our stay and we were told someone would be out the next day at 10am same time as checkout. They were asked about a breaker for the hot water heater with no response. 6 ppl forced to take cold showers. The property was filled with spider webs that could have just been knocked down before the stay with a broom. Stains on the outside patio furniture when it can be machine washed. Not sure if ring camera was in the listing but it was unexpected as security cameras weren't mentioned if I remember correctly. No propane available for propane grill. As well as grill could have been cleaned. If you have a low car the gravel path can be treacherous it might have taken us 10+ minutes at 3mph to get down to the actual road. Probably the most wild thing was an urn with ashes or a bag inside in the bottom level restroom. Also not mentioned and if it was mentioned would not have booked. Dishwasher wasn't connected to counter so it flipped down while being filled. Etc....”

“Beautiful house, beautiful lake. Our first night, the circuit breaker tripped and we had no power to half of the sleeping rooms. Thankfully we were able to get access to the locked breaker box to flip it back. We had issues with the parking situation. The Airbnb listing had no mention of a vehicle limit. You’d think a house of this size would accommodate more than 4 vehicles. Over the course of 2 days we went back and forth multiple times about parking due to a neighbors complaint. On our last day, Escape to Blue Ridge ultimately asked that we park additional cars at another location and shuttle our guests back and forth - Airbnb support was excellent and they informed us that we did not have to do that since that was not disclosed on the listing. Unfortunate turn of events during a weekend of celebration that left me feeling less than pleased, but ultimately the trip was good and I’d recommend this house. Just don’t bring more than 4 cars.”

“We enjoyed our stay at Country Roads! The cabin itself as a bit dated, with some legacy smart home features that mostly worked but were confusing. There were cobwebs and dust covering the exterior surfaces but wasn't a problem. Dock was amazing and the finger of the lake was super private and gorgeous. All the beds were really comfortable which we appreciated. The kitchen was properly stocked for 12 persons with ample living & hangout space. Host was slow to respond and had issues with the AC controls. Good price for this lakefront experience! Not quite a Luxe bnb in my experience.”

“This home has an amazing location and incredible long-range east/northeast views of the mountains. It provides incredible sunrise views. There is ample space and multiple hangout areas throughout the home. Great: - Amazing sunrise views - WiFi was fast - Pet friendly (includes waste bags) Not-so-great: - Somewhat expensive ($3,000+ for 4 nights during Labor Day weekend) - Lots of dead bugs on the floor upon arrival. These were mostly some variety of yellow jacket. They continued to come into the home throughout the stay and I personally captured and carried a couple dozen outdoors. - The indoor fireplaces were not useable. This was NOT mentioned on the Airbnb listing and was one of the reasons I booked the home. - The hot tub requires the renter to add chemicals after each use. I did not trust that someone potentially untrained could do this correctly so I did not use the amenity. - Old/worn pots and pans (PFAS). - We found the floors to be sticky/dirty. - Poor communication.”
