Escala Vacation Rentals

Escala Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.56 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. When we arrived, the beds were not made, the dishwasher was full of dishes, and there was a noticeable musty smell throughout the condo. We also had an issue with the hot water in the bathtub, which never worked properly. We reported these issues during our stay, but the response and follow-through were not what we expected. We had to spend time addressing problems that should have been taken care of before our arrival. While Airbnb support was helpful once we provided documentation, the condition of the condo and the lack of attention to our concerns made the stay much less enjoyable than it should have been. I would recommend that future guests be aware of these issues before booking.

Everything was great the amount of space in the rooms was perfect .. I will say when we arrived the furniture was very dirty just the slip covers need to be washed—not sure if house keeping does that or not but you can tell they haven’t in long time, and the rug in the living room was pretty dirty as well—the corners are curling up, so it was an issue for my mother, who is not real steady with balance when walking. There is a crack in the kitchen counter top by the sink—and peeling on the utensil drawer that could get worse if not tended too … But overall we really enjoyed the condo and its location

Overall an amazing place! Upon checking in we were worried we had made a mistake. The guards were not very welcoming or friendly. We had arrived after hours (1:00 am) and was informed our packet would be at the guard shack well it wasn't. The guards weren't listening, saying our check-in was the next day. We said no, our reservation is for this day. One argued that we should have arrived at 4. We explained check-in is at 4 or later. Finally, they called someone who confirmed our reservation and actually looked at our phone for our confirmation number. Thankfully, because there was no packet for our passes or keys, the guard let us into our room around 3 am. The condo was very nice. Spacious and beautiful. The kitchen was top-notch! It was nice to have space to cook and prep meals. The resort itself was fantastic. The pools were awesome and being able to park our jet skis and trailer for free there at the resort to come and go was great. Very friendly atmosphere! We'd visit again!

The kids wasn’t able to enjoy the main pool with the 3 slides due to glass all in the pool. The 3rd day it was back open but still had glass around pool and 2 of our kids got the glass in their feet but other than that the stay was fine

The room itself was beautiful, clean, well-furnished, and had a gorgeous bay view. Only issue was Caribe’s property management/room service. All of the towels were unfolded in dryer when we arrived. The room keys we were given did not work and they made us walk back to another building to get room keys that worked. It seems that the property is mostly staffed by high school/college age kids.

First this was the dirtiest Airbnb I have ever stayed in. The floors of the entire place were so stocked and dirty, every cabinet and drawer was nasty. One of the beds didn’t even have sheets on the bed and was so bad stained no telling what was in it. This place needs a deep clean and some re work done to it to get it up to the standard it should be at to be hosting. Also the TV in the living room was going out so that needs to be replaced. The location was awesome close to a lot so you don’t have to drive unless you want to. The main pool was great the kids loved it. The walk to the beach was just as described and took about 5 mins to get there once you got to the floor level. We informed the host about all the issues and they were able to send a cleaning lady the next day after we checked in to clean and I know why this place is as dirty as it is by the way they “clean” things we had to have her redo things till it was clean. Would write more but it will only allow me towritesomuch.

AC was broken when we were three hours out from our original room. Host gave us a different unit. Wristbands didn’t work and that’s a huge aggravation bc you need the bands for everything & wasted time getting this fixed. Rooms are very spacious and close to beach so location is amazing. The Cabinets/drawers/dishes need a very deep cleaning. The beds are cot/platform beds so be aware. The washer and dryer worked amazing and there was nice beach chairs in the closet to use. As far as the actual resort (not our host) The pools were freezing and not heated as described by the actual resort. The trash chute is hard to find as well.

Nice condo unit and view. 4pm is check in….not a minute sooner so don’t ask. Beds are extremely hard. Tile floor was probably softer. Tv in master bedroom was tiny, somewhat comical. Seemed to cut corners with furniture. There’s a pumping station underneath balcony that is extremely loud….takes away from enjoying the outside seating. Elevators were trashed probably due to local spring break kids. Better security is needed during peak seasons. Didn’t meet expectations for the nightly price. This resort is known for being top notch. Fell short. Do better.

Nobody in our party typically leaves negative Airbnb reviews. I use Airbnb often and understand that issues can happen. That said, this stay was disappointing enough that I feel it’s important to share. We arrived to find the unit had not been properly cleaned. The floors were sandy and sticky, the microwave was covered in food, and there was sand in both beds. The TV remotes were sticky and didn’t work, and we couldn’t access streaming platforms as advertised. The unit felt very shabby. Furniture was worn, bathtubs were yellowing with mold-like stains, and walking barefoot left our feet dirty. The resort itself was negligent at best. The elevators didn't work, gym was closed, hot tub closed, and no staff present. It appears to cater to spring break crowds, with heavy police presence, restricted access points, constant traffic stops, and noise.
