“Here is a list of items that need changing and I wouldn't recommend the place without being fixed or changed: Toilets were very low; outdated; didn't flush well and were not comfortable for our group. Couch was mushy, low and worn out. My daughter's couch in college at a rental house for five girls was more comfortable. No one enjoyed it; needs replacing. Kitchen sink needs replacing stained - gross - and drains are black/filthy. Stove didn't 100% work; only one large burner worked; we cooked for family and that wasn't convenient. Electrical panel/plug for second fridge didn't work; had to add extension cord and put a rug on top to use. Not safe situation. Landscape/weeds overgrown; not appealing. Both front and back deck haven't been stained in at least ten years. Not appealing. We'r not trying to be complaining; but for $2700 for three nights at $ 900 each there were other choices. Only saw one bad review online - so not sure how others did not have these same issues.”airbnb

“There is no way that we can leave a 5 star review for our stay. We have rented properties all around the US and this one was rough. For the high rental cost, we expected better. Light fixure over the dining room table has 4 lights, three burned out. I replaced. Laundry room light burned out. We did laundry using our phone flashlight to see the washer controls. Hot tub, heated turmed off, water fill to the very brim of the pool. NO filter, filter was disgarded on the side of the house. No chemicals, the chlorine dispenser was empty. We added chlorine and checked the ph for safety. The lid lifter was cracked in half, inoperable, leaving a sharp end to the pipe. Gas grill, dirty, and the burners only lit a few of the jets. Rental cost should have been half the cost for the quality of the property. Cute bathroom. We expected better.”airbnb

“This place was great until it wasn’t. On our 3rd evening (we rented for 5 nights) a toilet was unable to flush, even with plunging. Fecal matter backed up into the tub, a few inches deep. The sinks all began to gurgle loudly as well as when flushing the second toilet. I submitted a critical maintenance request to the special app this rental has you download as well as immediately contacting Troy via Airbnb. They claim 24/7 maintenance in the listing. It took over 24 hours for maintenance to come on site to tell us the holding sewer tanks were full. We were unable to use any running water, toilets, or showers for over 24 hours. Once the tanks were emptied, we could resume using plumbing. But still, one bathroom was covered in fecal matter between the shower and toilet seepage. It took almost another 24 hours to be cleaned. Things happen, we get that, but lack of response time and attention to this issue makes this stay an Airbnb nightmare. Would not recommend!!”airbnb

“The location of the cabin is great - close to both Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City. The first day of check-in we noticed some minor issues but nothing I felt I needed to make a fuss over - a bit of plant matter (leaves, etc) floating in the hot tub, no fitted sheet on one of the upstairs beds, and the glass storm door had a broken spring. I didn't report this to the host because there was a net to clean the hot tub & a spare fitted sheet in the closet, and the front door was just a minor annoyance. On our way back home, however, the host reached out and claimed the hot tub water was cloudy after we left and they would be charging me an additional $250. We followed all rules during our stay, including showering before each use of the hot tub. Despite explaining this to the host, they continued to try to charge me. The home is lovely and I'm grateful for the memories shared with my friends, but I would not stay here again simply because of the way this situation was handled.”airbnb

“Beautiful cabin right on the lake, if quite small for a family of 4. It was very quaint and homey. The lockbox was broken when we arrived, so it took about 30 minutes for us to get inside, but otherwise had a nice time.”airbnb

“I stayed here during 4th of July weekend. I was looking for a nice place to stay with either lake front or lake view of Torch Lake. I exclusively stay at Superhost Airbnb's so I have a certain expectation. This place fell really short of a Superhost Airbnb or an "elevated" experience as they try to market. The listing said this was a lake view property and there is absolutely NO view of the lake from the property, it is surrounded by woods. When we arrived, there were very noticeable signs that a dog had previously been there with dog hair, pee stains on the carpet, dog poop in the backyard, etc. The main chandelier in the living room, which is in their primary listing photo, has cobwebs all over it. The outside porch lights did not work while we were there and there was an open electrical box with exposed wires hanging out in the living room. The water pressure was terrible around the house, the kitchen sink had water pressure comparable to a drinking fountain.”airbnb

“You can't beat the location or the views. We had what we needed overall, but the internet never worked and we were also unable to watch the TV or use the VCR. They have a property management company, so people weren't available outside of business hours and even after someone came to replace the router, the internet still didn't work and they expected me to troubleshoot and send photos of cords, etc. I am on vacation and trying to relax. Because of this, I would not stay here again.”airbnb

“I wish the listing was more clear about the parking situation. It mentioned free parking, but the lot behind the units was extremely small and there were absolutely not enough parking spots to accommodate all the guests at this building. When I've stayed at these units previously with other hosts, they offer a parking pass for the parking garage next door. Troy didn't. I had to pay an additional $20 per night for parking, which made this a way worse deal. The listing wasn't clear about that essentially mandatory additional charge. I encourage Troy to invest in a parking pass for his guests. It's a small charge that goes a long way with guests since the parking situation is less than ideal.”airbnb

“The property was not close to Traverse city, considering dogs needed to be let outside, so the back and forth was incredibly disruptive. There were no window coverings for the front of the home facing the busy street. The washing machine made high pitched whistling noises, and caused the kitchen plumbing to gurgle and make sounds like it was possessed. We only used it once. The bathroom shower only ran cold water, forcing us to use a family members hotel shower and washing machine. The shower also had a whistling noise that indicated an issue with plumbing. Inside the shower tub was so stained I wouldn’t have even got in without a shower mat, there wasn’t one. The shower curtain was also stained yellow, very off putting. The only solution given to me was to let people in the house, with my pet there. This was unacceptable, we decided to leave early. When I asked for a refund, I was initially told I would get it. Troy gaslit me during my stay and didn’t provide the agreed refund.”airbnb

“Bonfire and lake area was way smaller than expected but we made the most out of it. Only issue was all the dishes were dirty when we tried to use them so we just ate out majority of the time. Other than that had a good time with our family”airbnb
