DoorMat Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.70 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Great location, very peaceful, just what we needed. We ran into an issue with the fridge, but were able to get ice to keep most of our stuff safe. Absolutely lovely stay, would highly recommend!”airbnb

“We’ve stayed here in the past and 4 years later we stayed again. It’s nice, quiet and private. We enjoy the jacuzzi and multiple patios and views. I just have to mention that the trash can wasn’t accessible (broken door) and fire place was out of order. Wish certain things were inspected prior to people staying so they can enjoy the things they paid for. The company/host was notified of the issues. All in all, it’s a fun stay and had a great time.”airbnb

“Pros: Cabin is pristine and clean. Location is great and very peaceful. Cons: * Ai response. Doesn't feel personalized. * Early check-in charge outside the app. I know it's based upon availability but I find it shady and brought it up and the response was that they have listing through various platforms. I've stayed w/ Destination Big Bear before and they are so nice with honoring early check in at no charge. * Shower does not drain.. it took 20+ mins to drain. Took forever for us to get ready because of this. Although maintenance was offered. We refused because we will be out. * No lights around the hot tub so when it gets dark,it felt really creepy. * Rental license says Max occupancy is for 3 but listing says 4. * BBQ grill doesn't have propane and we ended up eating out and our packed marinated meat got wasted. They should store a spare propane. * If you're planning to do a movie night please take note that the chairs and couch is very uncomfortable. It's mainly for anesthetics.”airbnb

“Matthew’s cabin was super cozy and clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend getaway to celebrate our friend’s birthday. The moment we walked in, all four of us smiled, the place felt so warm and inviting, and we loved the calming music already playing. Our favorite part was definitely the jacuzzi in the private backyard, which you can access from the master bedroom. It was clean, perfectly warm, and had an amazing clear view of the night sky: we spotted Jupiter right above us and Polaris at the tail of Ursa Minor! We all felt so lucky. We’d definitely love to come back again!”airbnb

“We had a very bad experience staying at this property. We were not informed that trash had to be taken about 10 minutes away, which is completely unacceptable and very inconvenient. We had to pay $20 ourselves just to dispose of the trash. The grill had no gas and there was no firewood in the house, so we had to spend an additional $50 out of pocket. The biggest issue was cleanliness. The house was left in a dirty condition — there were dirty dishes that we had to wash ourselves, dust everywhere, and the bathroom was extremely dirty. We even found other people’s belongings under the bed, which clearly shows the place was not properly cleaned before our arrival. We also had to clean the house ourselves before we could stay comfortably, and honestly, we left it cleaner than we found it. This level of maintenance is unacceptable.”airbnb

“The home is in a great location and is very large (9 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms), which worked well for our group. However, the property is not well maintained and does not match the condition shown in the listing photos. During our stay we encountered several issues: the gas burners did not work properly, the kitchen exhaust fan did not work, the air hockey table would not power on, and the projector room sound system did not work. The upstairs TV had no remote, some kitchen drawers were broken, and the furniture appeared worn and outdated. We also noticed stains on some bedsheets. The property seems to be managed by a property management company, and communication was very slow. It took about 20 hours to get a response to issues we reported, and no meaningful resolution was provided. Overall, while the size and location are positives, the poor maintenance and lack of responsiveness made the stay disappointing.”airbnb
