Curated Vacation Properties's guest rating of 4.79 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“The location was perfect! It was basically across the street from direct beach access. The inside was clean but some of the furniture felt cheap and older. The kitchen is almost mini sized-the fridge is a basically a mini fridge/freezer and the oven is half the standard size-we couldn’t figure out how to use it (no directions and the display only had symbols). You can definitely hear people walking above you. We were traveling with two young kids and the high chair was missing when we arrived. I reached out and they were quick to respond and stated they would ask the team the next day and get back to us but I never heard anything. A high chair is nothing major but I feel that when it is listed on the listing there should be one in each rental because I could have brought one from home had I known. The not hearing back about it at all is what gets me.”airbnb

“The biggest positive is the location — about a 5-minute walk to the beach. The home is cozy and was clean when we arrived. That said, the property needs some maintenance. The floors are noticeably uneven, the laminate felt to cover subfloor issues, and the beds felt sloped with the floors, which made sleeping uncomfortable. We also noticed protruding nails at the transition between the dining room and kitchen, on the deck, and around the playground. Families with young children should supervise closely. The ceilings are also quite low in places. At 6 feet tall, I hit my head on the ceiling fan in the middle bedroom. With updates to the flooring/subfloor, interior/exterior wood, and general maintenance, this place could be a gem. Our kids slept well, but unfortunately we did not. Overall, the cleanliness and proximity to the beach were definite positives, but the maintenance issues affected our stay.”airbnb

“Great proximity to the beach and very clean. Missing quite a few amenities (no forks, only butter knives, no skillet or spatula for cooking, etc), ice maker didn’t work, coffee maker didn’t work and bathroom doors don’t have locks on them. The space was fine for 2 nights at the beach but I wouldn’t book again and would have been more upset about some of the issues if we had been staying longer.”airbnb

“We had a great stay overall and really loved the location. The house is clearly designed with families in mind, which was a big plus for us. That said, there were a few things that could be improved. The pool area did not feel very safe for young children. Some of the pavers were loose. The pavers and stones surrounding the pool are uneven and hard, and we were concerned about the risk of kids falling or getting hurt. The living room was also not very comfortable for a group. The couch is relatively small and there isn’t much seating, which made it difficult for everyone to sit together comfortably. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the family-friendly layout and great location, but making the pool area safer and adding more comfortable seating in the living room would make this property much better for families and larger groups.”airbnb

“Great location & condo has great vibes/potential, but our experience fell short of the “lux” positioning. Mgmt felt highly AI-automated & impersonal, with no flexibility despite knowing before booking we were traveling with a baby. We were told check-in/out times ensured a “pristine” property, yet arrived to hair, sand, stained/dirty furniture, a used razor + items from prior guests. Water pressure was poor (maintenance improved it), the 2nd bath extremely tight & basics like toilet paper surprisingly low quality. Mgmt offered a cleaning touch-up but never followed through, even after we provided times we’d be out with the baby. While the shared backyard is disclosed, the “entire rental unit” category + emphasis on a private entrance felt misleading. Neither we nor the guests in the other unit realized there would be unrelated renters staying within the same house. Great location + beach towels/umbrellas are nice, but cleaning, upkeep & mgmt need improvement.”airbnb

“House was as described. Great for traveling with children, had everything we needed. Close walk to the beach and backyard was shaded for those hot sunny days.”airbnb

“Unfortunately, this property did not match the description. It was dirty, significant staining on furniture, broken and missing appliances, and inoperable furniture in bedrooms. The company was quick to respond and said twice that they’d send someone out, and never did. I’ve stayed with this company in Charleston before and our stay was perfect. Clearly this property needs review and inspection.”airbnb

“Walkable location. Can be noisy, with people leaving the bars at night. The place has a lot of sleeping space. The cleaning crew was not very good.”airbnb

“Description did not disclose that you could hear every footstep & every word spoken in the upstairs unit above you. There were 10 college girls that were yelling & screaming & falling down (shaking the whole house) for 2 nights straight until past 2:00am. Sent the mgmt videos of how loud they were being & told them what a horrible experience we had had & they didn’t even offer to give us a credit. Don’t feel like it was worth the almost $1400 we paid for 3 nights. The walls & floor were paper thin & you could literally hear everything. Had I known that we would have just paid more to have the upstairs unit so we could have at least enjoyed our stay in peace.”airbnb

“The place is nice and spacious. 25 minute walk to historic downtown. There are many great places to eat close by. However, if you are a light sleeper, I would not recommend booking it because of the consistant traffic and construction noise. There is no communication with the managing company after work hours, so if you need anything in the evening, you are on your own.”airbnb
