Manager Review

Crown Vacation Rentals

Crown Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.49 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Condo opens directly onto Donner Lake, walk out to the dock and swim or rent a kayak or paddle board next door. Close to hiking, ice cream shop and a pub. Great spot to watch the stars at night!

We stayed in unit 215. The pull out sofa was very uncomfortable. Otherwise it was lovely

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with the cookware and utensils we needed to prepare simple meals, which was a nice convenience. The listing mentioned access to a private beach for guests. While there is a private sandy area, it’s very small and located next to the boat ramp leading into the private marina. It wasn’t much of a beach for relaxing or playing in the sand. We ended up walking to the public beach, which was about a 10-minute walk away and offered a much better beach experience. The bathroom could use some updating. It was noticeably older, with some stains and an aging slip-resistant mat in the tub that was peeling. The carpet also had quite a bit of sand in it, which made it seem like it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned after previous guests. Overall, the rental met our needs and was a decent place to stay. A deeper cleaning and some bathroom updates would go a long way toward improving the experience.

Beautiful location and views. The slider door opens right out onto a patio with a lake views, patio furniture and access to the shared bbqs and the dock. It isn’t the most private as the sliding door open to a shared patio area, but everyone was friendly and respectful. The pull out bed was uncomfortable as expected. The condo could have been better stocked (for example there was no cooking oil in the kitchen), but overall it was a nice weekend escape in a beautiful location.

The bed made a squeaky noise every single turn. I tried to minimize my movements but still made a noise irritably. There was a blackout during our stay in building C where we stayed. I called the desk to find out the situation but nobody answered the phone. I finally asked the housekeepers and they had no idea too. Also I wanted to do the laundry, and was told that the washing machine has not been working last 3 weeks! The lady at the desk said she has no idea when this will be fixed. My boyfriend was doing PCT and doing laundry was significantly important. I wish the host and lodge should’ve mentioned it.

Overall the studio was cozy and comfy! The room did take a bit longer than expected to cool down during the night as there was only a ceiling fan, it was in the middle of July so it was hotter than expected.

If you want a peaceful getaway, I would not book this place. The units are close together and people around us were loud and not courteous. Plus the upstairs unit was SO loud. We could hear every step they took. The oven didn’t work effectively and the bed was average comfort. The setting was beautiful, right on the lake but be prepared for lots of noisy waterski boats. We enjoyed our stay but would not stay here again.

Due to a severe winter weather storm we were in need of a shovel to get the car snow free The person at the desk told us "most people bring their own shovel, I have none to share right now" We had an issue with returning rental equipment from a close by ski resort, due to a severe winter storm all roads and the resort were closed, the front desk refused to store, or help storing the rental equipment. The tone was unfriendly, and made us feel like "stupid city rats". Unfortunate, because we did enjoy the studio apartment, the area, and the view very much. Hopefully we will find a more helpful and friendly desk person.
