Common Street Vacation Rentals
4.35
Common Street Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.35 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“We stayed here and there were numerous things that stood out in a bad way. Location of building was unsafe, lots of homeless/street kids on street and staying in front of the main door. Thankfully you had to use a code to enter, but once you stepped in you were greeted with a damp sewer smell in the lobby and worse in the elevator. Only one elevator was working and it smelled horrible. There were numerous leaks in the building so when walking in hallways you had to walk over giant puddles with no one cleaning them or wet floor sign. Once entering the actual unit it first looks as described, until greeted with multiple large cockroaches, a horrible sewage smell continuously in the bathroom, paper thin windows and walls therefore not a quiet space, as well as no storage in the shower so items needed to be placed on floor, and the curtain was useless and water drained all over the bathroom floor. The rooftop & pool were locked our entire stay which was a main reason we chose this place.”airbnb

“To preface, I didn’t check reviews to this Airbnb before booking. However, the street it is on is very nosiy at night. I understand we’re in New Orleans, but it was hard to sleep. And the hot water did not work in our unit, by the time we realized it, we had one more night & thepeople in the lobby were gone for the night. The coffee maker was broken as well. The place is cute & colorful. And it’s very spacious.”airbnb

“I think they might have a GNAT INFESTATION. We have tried hot boiling water with baking soda, lemon grass spray, apple cider vinegar and dish soap. It’s something deeper than that. ALSO we shouldn’t have to do all of this for an AIRBNB that we’re staying at for the weekend. I’ve been killing GNATS since we’ve walked into the unit, it’s really unacceptable, to spend this much money and have GNATS swarming us and our things. We can’t even enjoy the unit without swatting at GNATS. The property was central location to everything which was a plus. Parking garage was really tight if you have an oversized vehicle (which we did). Other than the gnat attack I would give it a 3/5.”airbnb

“The space itself was comfortable and the bed was good, but my overall experience was significantly impacted by communication and inaccurate information. The main issue was parking. The listing stated on-site parking starting at $40 per night, but the instructions provided were incorrect. I also received incorrect guidance through Airbnb support, including a photo and description of the wrong parking garage, which caused confusion and made it difficult to locate the correct garage. It took nearly two hours to figure out parking after a long travel day. Once I reached the correct garage, the total cost was $105.65, which was much higher than expected. Check-in and entry instructions were not very clear, and some basic amenities such as face towels were missing. Overall, while the unit itself was fine for resting, the lack of accurate information and clear communication made the stay more stressful and time-consuming than expected.”airbnb

“The bed is soft and squishy. The mattress needs replacing. I had questions for the property management company and got an immediate response saying that someone would help me out soon, but I didn't hear back from them. I saw they opened a ticket, but that was about it. The location was great. Very walkable to everything. The condo had an odor in it - smelled like cigarettes - I'm assuming from the guy downstairs.”airbnb

“This place is spacious and the stay could’ve been nice BUT…..the host was completely unresponsive. All I got (and still all I’ve gotten) were automated responses saying my messages were received. There was an awful chemical smell in this place, the WiFi was really inconsistent, and I had trouble with the keyless entry. They didn’t respond to any of this. They (or likely a bot) sent a message asking how they can make things right. I responded, and again there’s no response. This place is not at all worth the money, do not stay here. Worst Airbnb experience I’ve had.”airbnb

“You can’t a better location if you like to walk the French Quarter. The security of the building is always a bonus. I’ve stayed in this building 2 times before, but the unit seemed to be a little more less taking care of . The couch had a stain innit that kind of had you asking “ what do you think that is ?”. Luckily there was a spare comforter in the closet we put in the couch for the days we were there. The place definitely needs new furniture or at least an upgrade. It looks like the furniture was bought at a second hand store or flea market. Being a Hosteeva property which I’ve stayed in one before they could spend some money on better furniture. All in all it succeeded in what was needed and that was a place to crash when not out seeing the city”airbnb

“Room had a broken AC and the bathroom sink water had a single temperature of scaldingly hot. Was told a replacement room would be provided however this never occurred even after following up with them. Was able to hear everything going on outside and woken up in the middle of the night multiple times as the windows didn't provide enough sound resistance. Bathroom also had a few stray hairs upon arrival.”airbnb

“This Airbnb is a good location making most things fairly walkable. Only issues during stay were no wash clothes, just hand towels and bath towels and the sofa bed in the pull out couch is broken. Also no bedding for the pull out couch, just 3 bed sheets. The lobby, hallways, and elevators also have a terrible smell.”airbnb

“Very great location in terms of walking and finding things to do. Parking was a hassle, and the building itself has parking that is handled by a third party and they were charging outrageous prices and fees. We had to call multiple times and email to ensure our money back since we did pay for parking in the first place. We ended up parking across the street and had no issues. We noticed some water damage and there was constant leaking from the ceiling in the main bathroom and some lifting from the wall paper also, but this was never addressed. Aside from that, it is located in a busy area so it was loud overall but again it was totally worth not having to find parking and just explore the French Quarter all weekend.”airbnb
