“We really enjoyed the property. It was quirky, but fun. The layout of the house is unique. Awesome views of the ocean and walkable to stores and restaurants. It was a great location for us as we just purchased a house in the neighborhood and it was nice to be able to be close to our house as we work on it. We will be back!”

“Really nice location on the bluff, which is why I booked the place. Very old carpet with stains and pretty dirty and smelly dishwasher. The kitchen cookware was suboptimal too. The location within The Sea Ranch was quite nice.”

“Catherine and company were great in providing us immediately some things that we thought were missing in the home like place mats, a coffee grinder and some extra trash cans. Ultimately we found the existing placements in a part of the living room we would have never thought to look.”

“The house’s location is spectacular, and the scenery is beautiful. However, we had issues with communication with the host. Their response was extremely slow, and in one instance, the AC/heat unit malfunctioned all night, leaving us with a cold night. We requested assistance, but they never responded to us until we had already checked out, and our kids had a very uncomfortable night. We paid a premium price for the stay, and we didn’t anticipate that they wouldn’t have simple things like sugar for our morning coffee/Tea. Consequently, we had to drive to the local store and buy it ourselves. Another point to note is that the description mentions beach access, but it’s not directly accessible from the house. You’ll need to walk back to Highway 1 and find a trail road from there to the beach.”

“The location of this house is right down by the Gualala restaurants and stores which is convenient. Great ocean view from the deck and hot tub. Spacious inside and was pretty kid friendly for my 2 and 3 year old. Some windows were installed backwards my husband said, and we couldn’t lock them at night which made me feel a little uneasy being in a new/ unfamiliar location. We loved using the fireplace and hot tub because the weather was pretty cold while we were there. Overall I’d say the house was great for us.”

“Waking up here felt like a dream. The ocean views are absolutely breathtaking, and the sheer scale of the space provided a level of peace and privacy that’s hard to find. It is a truly stunning, high-end property. My only small suggestion for the hosts would be to streamline the house rules; the extensive list of 'don’ts' made the home feel a bit more delicate than it probably is. That said, if you’re looking for a massive, quiet, serene retreat by the water, this place is spectacular!”

“This stay was lovely! The hot tub on the deck with ocean views made for a great way to wind down after a day full of hiking. We really enjoyed the area overall as there are great scenic hikes and tide pooling spots nearby. Would recommend and stay again myself!”

“The house is great and spacious, with comfortable beds, a washing machine and dryer, and well-equipped kitchen tools (the fridge was leaking but still functioned properly). The house also features a pleasant sauna and hot tub, which were especially enjoyable after a winter walk in the rain. However, there was no body wash in the bathrooms—shops are far away, and one would expect basic soaps to be provided. Additionally, we experienced a power outage shortly before midnight on New Year’s Eve. We contacted the host through multiple channels but did not receive a call or text back during our stay (the power did return during the night). Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay. This is the second time we rent this house, because the location is beautiful and very peaceful.”
