“Total bait and switch! The photos in the listing look great but in reality the home is run down, most things are broken and worn out and it needs total renovation. I took over 100 photos of housing violations I submitted to the city when the owner wouldn’t address them. I booked for 28 days and upon arriving I wanted to be released from the contract and the owner became hostile and expected me to pay to live in a construction store while they brought their home up to code. Luckily my credit card put a stop payment and I got my money back. The owners got hostile when I would point out basic housing code violations like inoperable windows, torn screens, exposed live wires, front door that doesn’t close, huge light gaps in the doors that let insects and rodents in, broken and torn outdoor furniture, disgusting hot tub, trash under the deck, broken stairs, insect infestation, broken AC that doesn’t cool on hot days. These people have no business doing rentals.”

“I had booked this for work and part family vacation, for 5 nights. First 3 nights were fine, they have an additional rental agreement, but the place was ok. On our fourth day, we went to the zoo all day and came back to groceries on the counter/fridge, and we were not told anything. It alarmed us, we spoke on the phone with one of the three or four hosts, and he said no one had been in the house, asked me to remember if I got the groceries or had someone deliver. I told him to check all his cameras and get back to me, not blame me. We ended up feeling unsafe with a 8 and 5 year old, with someone gaining access at anytime with the door code. We checked out, which was its own hassle, but it took this rental company a day to admit it was their fault as they sent in a grocery concierge for the next guest, even though we had it two more nights. They don’t care about my or your families safety, they refunded for the two nights, but nothing for the hassle of finding a hotel at 9pm Friday.”
