Manager Review

Chesapeake Properties

Chesapeake Properties's guest rating of 4.79 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

messaging was inconsistent, first message I received had a different address. checked another message, went to second place, found the location. was less than a block from the first location, so no big deal. was given instructions on how to enter the actual condo, but never given instructions on how to enter the building to get to our condo. had to call the 24/7 help line, which gave us the instructions. after that was smooth getting in and settled. condo was clean, updated, and comfortable. back patio faces a bunch of backyards with broken down cars, so didn't really use the space. using the water inside the place (shower, brushing teeth, etc) gave off a smell of sulfur. unsure if it was old drain pipes or water itself. it was annoying, but not a deal breaker or worth calling anyone in my opinion given our length of stay.

Great place for staying for a few days... unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate but we made the best of it.

This house is amazing and is everything you would expect and more. No need to bring anything with the amenities that the house has. The views were absolutely stunning. We will be back!!

We were not able to make the trip to Cape Charles as my husband had Covid and still has not recovered as of yet. We spend a lot of money for a place we were not able to enjoy. Our daughter who lives in Cape Charles picked up the key incase we were able to make it over the weekend but we were not able to. She sat on the porch twice over the days rented. Life happens but nonrefundable hurts when thousands of dollars are involved.

The location was in a walkable area to all of the restaurants and shops. It was well decorated, clean and looked exactly like the online photos. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Condo was nice but front entrance was covered in spider webs. We also found 3 dead bugs in kitchen. We were disappointed with the lack of directions on how to locate condo and where to park. It wasn’t exactly easy to find. Also had some issues using the keypads for entrance and garages. Representative was not very knowledgeable and we were on hold for quite a while. Garage keypad never worked. Had to pay $50 for early check in but we were delayed 30 minutes (sitting out front) trying to figure out our entry issues.

This house has a fantastic location. Walk right across the street to access the beach. The dunes do prevent a Bay view from the front porch but unless a home has an upper level deck that is the same for all the houses along Bay Avenue. The home has everything you need! The kitchen has a regular drip coffee pot as well as a Kuerig . The first floor has a full bathroom, kitchen, living room and a wonderful front porch. No bedroom on the first floor. The second floor has 4 bedrooms and the third floor has a great private loft area with a bathroom. The best view is from the room on the second floor with 2 twin beds! We had 4 generations enjoy the stay in the house and everyone gave it 5 stars. The dog would have liked to have a fenced in yard but he doesn’t get a vote. Nice people to do business with and an amazing location.

We like Cape Charles and we liked this house. The location was fine since we enjoy the walk of a couple blocks to the main drag. The house was clean and modern and parking was available both in the driveway and on the street. We had a couple minor issues with the TV and the dishwasher. I would not consider them worth commenting on in themselves, but the response to my messages was either a chatbot or somebody copying and pasting AI. It was a little off-putting and made me feel like I was pouring money into some "vulture capital" management company rather than a real person's house. Perhaps that is naive of me, so maybe it was just my bubble being burst. We would get this house again, but would still shop around for Cape Charles options. 4.5/5 stars.

Our stay was significantly impacted by an unresolved wasp issue. There was likely a nest in the roof or just outside with direct access to the third floor. We saw multiple wasps throughout the stay, even after removing the first, and they were repeatedly found on the beds. As a result, the entire third floor was unusable, eliminating four of the six advertised beds. With no alternative sleeping options, all children and adults had to share two king beds, which was not what we booked. Additionally, there was black and pink mold on all the shower curtains throughout the home, raising further cleanliness concerns. The host did not offer relocation or resolve the issue. We had to follow up repeatedly, and compensation was inadequate. Due to the management, maintenance, and cleaning standards, I cannot recommend this property.
