Cascadia Getaways

Cascadia Getaways's guest rating of 4.74 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The place was beautiful and looked like the photos, but it was also fairly grimy feeling. The carpet in particular was coated with dirt and other debris. One of the upstairs rooms had a strong musty smell. They also use what seems to be an automated text system for communication, which just couldn't get details right. They texted me probably 5 or 6 times before check in with various links and codes, all of which did not ultimately work. The housekeeper ended up letting me in the front door and gave me the correct code and I had to call for the outer gate code when I got stranded outside the neighborhood. Neskowin is a really lovely place so you can't go wrong there, but I probably wouldn't choose this house again.

This place would be great if they weren’t under construction. They don’t inform you until after you book and it is nonrefundable so you are stuck.

I recommend calling ahead if your party is planning to use the sofa bed in the living room because when we arrived, there were no sheets on the bed or anywhere in the house in order to make the bed. Cascadia was very quick to return our call about a concern the afternoon we arrived, but it was too late to get sheets when we figured out there weren’t any available. They arrived early the next morning to make the bed up though. Like all Airbnb, there is an expectation that you take out the trash and take the sheets off the bed and put everything in the washing machine before you leave at 10.

Me and my team enjoyed our stay in this home. It had plenty of room and all the cooking items we needed. The hot tub and basketball court was the cherry on top.

Loved this stay. My only complaint is that the air conditioner did work and it was really hot some of the time. Otherwise it was a great stay and I’ll likely do it again in the future.

I wouldn’t reserve this place until they get their act together. This is a company run place that’s run by a small service desk, who provide a lot of lip service with not much authority to remedy problems during the stay. We discovered that the guest shower had significant mold in it, and we did not feel safe to use it. They shouldn’t rent this place until they fix it, it’s very unhealthy. Later we discovered filthy washer, badly stained mats in the kitchen, and scratched up pan, not to mention heavy remodeling outside!!! After complaining, hours later they offered us another location but it was 7 miles north of where we wanted and had no ocean view. Also, it was late at night after 12 hours driving and we were exhausted and already settled in. They finally offered us 20% refund, but it was not nearly enough given the quality of our stay. I would not book this place, if quality of stay is important to you.

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. As soon as we entered the cabin, there was a strong odor throughout the property. The cabin is pet-friendly, and the smell seemed to be a combination of pet odors and moisture. We even tried cleaning the floors ourselves, but the odor remained. My friend lifted a kitchen rug and found a large stain underneath, which appeared to be from a previous pet accident that had not been properly cleaned. The bedding also had a noticeable unpleasant smell. The cabin felt unclean enough that we decided not to stay the night. To their credit, the property manager was very responsive and quickly arranged another cabin for the remaining two nights, which we appreciated. What was frustrating was the pricing resolution. We were told the replacement cabin would be price-matched and that we would receive a 10% discount, but the refund ended up being minimal. We were also told we were responsible for turnaround cleaning and logistics costs related to the

Apparently, the building and the unit are being remodeled, which was not indicated in the description or pictures. There was no door to the second bedroom, just a sheet. Old interior severely needing to be updated. The view is great. WiFi was spotty.
