Carolina Coast Vacations's guest rating of 4.69 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Great place, plenty of beds, lots of entertainment space. 4/5 stars. place was clean and great location for the cost. Two issues though, wish the owner would get new fridge, dishwasher and dishes. not the cleanest so I had to scrub most things before using. Also, the 250$ beach gear credit was valid for people staying between 3 and 14 days. However I called the 2nd day and they said it was not valid because we had to register for the gear within 24 hours of checkin. I foresee that as an issue for people staying even longer than just 3 days.”airbnb

“Great location, walkable to restaurants and shops. A lot of children at complex, got a little loud at the pool, but was quiet at night. Beautiful beach.”airbnb

“My only complaint is the pull out couch mattress was not sleepable. It absolutely needs to be replaced.”airbnb

“We had a great overall stay and there were definitely some highlights worth mentioning. The location was excellent, the views from the balcony were beautiful, and the pool area was fantastic. The host was also very communicative and responsive whenever immediate issues came up, which we appreciated. That said, the condo could really benefit from some upgrades and maintenance to better match expectations and pricing. Most faucets leaked, and the bathrooms felt very outdated. The dishwasher interior was rusted with several broken tines. While the unit is advertised to sleep 8, there wasn’t nearly enough silverware. The provided beach wagon and chairs were rusted and falling apart, the dryer consistently took two 70-minute cycles to dry clothes. The condo had good bones but definitely needs updating.”airbnb

“The location of this house was fantastic- very safe, close to the beach, the trails are great for bikes - the rental company gives you a discount on bikes. I will say that this place has a ton of deferred maintenance- it needs a very serious power wash and the floors just felt dirty - if you are renting a place where you want to hang out and have family and friends hang out in the house/ cook meals- this not your spot. But if you just need a landing spot to go off and do other things, then book away. Communication was less than average- I asked a question after booking and didn’t get a response. There’s an odor to the house (old age smell)- coming from someone who has rehabbed older homes and knows to expect this, along with an odor in the kitchen sink that we couldn’t shake. Everything except for the restrooms are very outdated and not maintained. Be mindful that there’s a lack of privacy with the curtains. I hope someone buys the home and restores it to its original glory”airbnb

“Great location with a great patio to hang out. The parking situation is very serious but a free parking lot nearby available from dawn to dusk. We ran out of toilet paper, paper towels and detergent. They said it was up to us to restock. It’s a pretty large space to give minimal products. Enough detergent for one load… had 5 people staying for 1 week. I think I would just do a hotel next time.”airbnb

“DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY THROUGH AIRBNB-GO DIRECTLY THROUGH CARROLL REALTY! We were charged an extra $2000 by going through AirBNB. After finally realizing the HUGE price difference, we were told there was nothing that could be done. So frustrating to pay that much more for the same property. This home was beautiful, had plenty of usuable space, and was in excellent proximity to the beach. The pool was a welcomed addition, however we would definitely recommend getting the pool heat, as the pool was unusable without it. It does sit on a very busy road, and had some maintanance issues, including an extrememly noisy toilet and broken door lock in the Jack n Jill bath, noticeable moldy ceilings in the bathrooms and master shower, and very sharp wires on the pool latch. Overall, we enjoyed our stay-We just wish we could have done it for $2000 less.”airbnb

“Overall, the stay was disappointing due to several cleanliness and maintenance issues. The front door lock was outdated and difficult to read, and the instructions failed to mention that the checkmark button needed to be pushed to activate it. Once inside, we noticed part of the door seal on the jamb was missing. The shower had visible mold under the sliding door, along with what appeared to be small child handprints on the inside of the door. The oven door was extremely dirty and unpleasant. There was also a repaired hole in the wall that had not been painted over. The couch appeared so dirty that we felt the need to cover it with a sheet before sitting down. Looking from the balcony, there were numerous pieces of trash scattered on the ground below. To end the stay, we were instructed to strip the beds, run the dishwasher, and take out the trash so the cleaning crew “wouldn’t have to work so hard.” That was not the relaxing ending to a vacation we expected. I took pictures... : (”airbnb

“Great location but realtor should consider key pick up and drop off at rental location like most rental locations I have used. I didn’t have a car and had to rely upon others for a ride for the keys at the opposite end of the island, not convenient for my situation. Also no early entry and once again had to rely on others that were luckily staying close by to leave my luggage until my rental was ready. They did indicate a company would hold my luggage for a fee. Wasn’t interested in the money grab. Other than that enjoyed the stay.”airbnb

“I think choosing this place turned out to be a poor decision for us. While the description, photos, and location were excellent—and you truly can’t beat the location on Isle of Palms—we experienced several issues during our stay. First, we received numerous emails about the check-in and check-out process, but nowhere was it mentioned that the parking pass would be on the fridge. We spent quite some time unsure whether we were allowed to park or not. We eventually discovered the parking pass, after checking in. This would have been much easier if it had been clearly mentioned in the details. Secondly, the entire house smelled strongly of sewage whenever we turned on the water. The odor was quite bad and unpleasant. Additionally, the AC did not work at all. We emailed and called multiple times but received no response. Overall, this was not a good experience, especially considering we paid close to $500 per night. Given the price, the expectations were much higher. It was disappointing”airbnb
