“We had a great stay here while our house in the same town was under construction. Having the fenced-in backyard was great for our two dogs we took with us. Location is pretty awesome too, just a short walk to downtown restaurants and shops, and the neighborhood was great for walking our dogs. Loved having all the bedrooms, and the living room was a nice spot to hang out with big windows bringing in lots of daylight. My only minor complaint was the garage door open button not working, so we had to use the manual buttons on garage door ceiling unit (made it time-consuming getting in and out of the garage). Otherwise we had a fantastic stay and would recommend this place to anyone coming to visit Manistee!”

“The condo is very small, not comfortable, relaxing or accommodating. There is one 32 inch tv in the livingroom, it is cheap, poor quality & sound. You have to watch it sideways because of the furnature. Livingroom furnature is uncomfortable and cheap. There is one closet in the entire condo & you can't use it to hang clothes because there is a mattress & supplies stored there. The dresser has sheets stored in it & broken drawers. There is barely enough room to walk around the bed & no overhead lights, a small lamp is the only light. The bathroom cabinet is full of towel bars, paint, maintenence supplies. You cannot put your stuff away and have to leave your stuff in suitcases, if you leave them open it has to be on the kitchen table as there is no other space. There is no laundry. It is just a very un- inviting and un-comfortable space. We were not told the parking lot was being resurfaced so we couldn't even park near our unit. On a positive, the mattress was very comfortable.”

“Great location for walking into town or along the board walk to Lake Michigan. Great deck overlooking the river. The unit was very comfortable for our two night anniversary getaway. Multiple events occurred that made us question the management company’s knowledge of unit, however. At 9:45 on our first morning, cleaning people coded in and entered without knocking. She said her boss told her the unit was unoccupied. The slider to the deck leaked onto the floor when it rained. The management company told us to put a towel in front of the slider. When you walk on that section of flooring, it obviously has been leaking for sometime. We could’ve sat on the deck even in inclement weather but the covering was broken. On our last morning, my husband loaded the car at 9:30 before our 10 am departure. Our door was already locked and he was unable to reenter. The mgmt. company did respond when I contacted them. It just seems like our issues were all avoidable.”

“This was our second stay after driving from Texas to Manistee. The home was clean, well equipped, and the host was responsive. However, the primary bedroom still had the same uncomfortable bed as our last visit—disappointing at this price point. Checkout flexibility was limited: no extension on our first stay and only one extra hour for our Wednesday checkout this time, despite our long drive ahead. The biggest concern was privacy. Someone entered the home while we were out, without notifying us or asking permission, and locked the downstairs cleaning closet with a key. I had opened that closet on arrival; by our last day, it had been locked. Discovering that someone had entered the home during our stay without our knowledge or consent was extremely alarming and violated our expectation of privacy. The cleanliness and responsiveness were appreciated, but these concerns are why I’m giving three stars.”

“Knowledge of the property/area are needed for efficient communication with Boardwalk Vacation Rentals representative Jessica! When asked about EV charging, Jessica didn’t know chargers were just across the street. We actually left a day early due to parking lot maintenance on departure day. Parking lot maintenance was scheduled from 7:00-11:30 AM. Our car needed to be moved to public parking across the street by 7:00 AM. Jessica was not familiar with the property to instruct us on our exit regardless of my several attempts. No response was returned when I inquired about a later checkout. For the most part , the condo was tidy. I did have to hand wash a few dishes as they were very dirty out of the cupboard. Cute table placemats, too bad they had a lot of crumbs. One of the clean bathroom towels was covered in someone else’s hair. Yuck! These things are individually minimal, but their sum were quite disappointing!”

“Looked just like pictures but, didnt show that with blinds open the unit windows adjacent the hall are right next to ours. You’re looking in each other’s windows. The unit overwhelmingly smelled like mold. Not just musky - but moldy. The bathroom vent had about a half inch of mold inside it. Had to keep the air running to withstand it. Tried not to at first but started to make us nauseous. Which made an Icebox on a 90 day. Weirdly thermostat was set at 66 when we entered. Turned it down which turned it off which made the smell obviously worse. 66 was the temp ended up needing to keep the smell away. Not enjoyable during day. Forgot dresses on the back of bedroom door. Said theyd check lost and found. Followed up a few days later. Over a week and havent heard anything back. I miss understood address and got vm when called to clarify. Thankfully I figured it out. Did read all instructions given on additional website link. Otherwise, enjoyed the place. The location was beautiful.”

“This place is in an incredible location close to the beach and downtown. We enjoyed walking downtown each morning to get matcha, and sitting at the peaceful pool. I removed one star due to: misleading WiFi connection instructions, lack of a few basic kitchen items (tin foil, sandwich bags, tupperware), the uncomfortable bed and the bath towels were all damp (presumably from the washing machine) when we arrived. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.”

“Rain. Bugs. Privacy not the best. Beach not as close as they made it seem we never made it toddler got tried of walking so we had to turn around”

“This place is way overpriced for a 1 bedroom one bath with no washer and dryer. We stayed six nights and were given 6 towels for 4 people. When I requested more towels I was given 6 more and told the location of a laundromat. When you spend $2,200 for 6 nights you should be able to get fresh towels when requested. The condo is very dated and had a weird musty smell.”
