“We had a great stay! Local beach was everything we were looking for, will definitely be coming back!”

“We really enjoyed our stay! The house was beautiful, the location was amazing and walkable to the beach, and we loved having a private backyard & pool. That said, for the price, we felt there were several issues that popped up that could be addressed. Some kitchen flooring was significantly lifted and sharp, several doors were difficult to operate, and both kitchen faucets were loose and coming undone. The pool plaster was also crumbling in multiple areas, and the hot tub was barely functioning when we tried to use it. The pool was very warm, although that may have simply been due to the summer heat. We also felt basic supplies could have been better stocked. We understand this isn’t a hotel, but one roll of paper towels for eight guests over four days made it difficult to clean up and maintain the home. Overall, we loved the house and location and had a great time!”

“Overall, my friends and I had a great stay at Blue Ocean Rentals in South Padre Island! The location and layout of the Airbnb were wonderful. We especially enjoyed the easy beach access with the beautiful walkway, and the view from the third floor was amazing. Having easy access from the garage to the Airbnb was also very convenient, and we felt safe and secure throughout our stay. A special shoutout to Jake, the security guard, who was always on watch and made us feel even more comfortable. There were a few areas that could use improvement. The Wi-Fi was spotty at times, and the cleanliness could have been better. The beds in the entrance room were also very hard, and one of the beds appeared to be supported by a deteriorating cinder block, which was concerning. We also noticed a few cockroaches during our stay. Communication with the host could have been a little more responsive as well. That said, these issues didn’t keep us from having a wonderful time. We really enjoyed our stay”

“Location was very nice. Easy walk to the beach, pool was generally empty and clean.”

“Great location but the entrance was a pain to get in and out of. When we walked in on Wednesday it had a weird smell. Took a while to get use to it. When we finally went to bed that night we found there was sand In our sheets. We texted the number provided and never heard back. The morning time came and my husband texted a different number and they said someone would come out to change them that day (Thursday). No one ever did till that Friday. We ended up running to Walmart to get a blanket to lay over for the two nights till they came to change them. The shower door was off track and wouldn’t shut so we contacted them again. They told us they get 100 emails a day and they never saw it. Great location though. Nice it has a pool and it’s a big space for a family. Love that you get a credit to rent stuff for beach. However communication was not great and the place def needs some upgrades.”

“The views were amazing!! Walls need painting almost everywhere. There were no oven mitts for cooking with and was told to use towels? They did finally bring oven mitts but we only had one more day. They also had baby spiders on the oven. Guessing mama had her babies. But other then that the place was nice and views again were beautiful!”

“I’m giving our stay at Ocean Vista Tower in SPI a 3-star review for a few reasons. When we arrived, the room code provided by the host did not work, so we were unable to enter the condo. We had to call and wait for someone to let us in and provide us with a new code. Later that evening, after returning from the beach, we were stopped by security and informed that we needed both wristbands and a parking pass to remain on the property. The security guard explained that this requirement is clearly communicated to every condo owner at Ocean Vista. We told him that the Airbnb host had never informed us of either requirement and asked if our vehicle could be towed. His response was, “You might be okay.” That level of uncertainty made our family uncomfortable for the rest of the evening until we were able to get our wristbands and parking pass from the property management the next morning. I like to think that my family is very patient and we rarely gripe about anything. We almost always l”

“Overall a good place to stay and good location. A couple issues I was disappointed in; when we checked in we noticed none of the outlets worked in the kitchen except for the island. Put in a service request someone came out and said they needed to check the breaker in garage but did not have a key. They left and never returned until we tripped the breaker on the island our last night. Also the controls the hot tub were not operable and the hot tub would loose water daily. Last thing was the pool cleaner came while we were swimming, no problem we got out while they cleaned it. Afterwords we went to get in but it was all foggy so we sent a message to see if it was safe to get in or if we needed to wait a specific amount of time before getting in and never received a response.”

“all in all the decorations were nice. However all 3 bed sheets were dirty. bathrooms were filthy. we had cockroaches. it was not worth what we paid. we made the best of it. hopefully we can get some refund.”
