Big Bear Lakefront Cabins

Big Bear Lakefront Cabins's guest rating of 4.80 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Architecture was great. Location was excellent. Lots of towels etc. bedding and finishes was more “vintage” side of furnishings.”airbnb

“We had a nice stay overall. The location was fantastic—an easy walk to the village—and the peaceful lake view was a highlight of our trip. The home was clean and comfortable, though it felt a bit smaller than we expected from the listing. It was also quite warm during our stay and took some time to cool down. Communication was very thorough, though we felt the number of text messages was a bit more than necessary. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and appreciated the beautiful setting and convenient location.”airbnb

“I have used Airbnb many times and have never encountered this level of difficulty. They advertised a “deal” of the 3rd night free. When I booked it they gave me the run around for how I got the 3rd night free saying to contact Airbnb and Airbnb said to contact them. When we arrived, there were cob webs throughout the home inside and out, trash left behind, stains in the toilet, dirty bathtub, lingering marijuana smell, leak in the upstairs bathroom that they knew about based on the patch work in the bottom bathroom. When we brought this to their attention they offered housekeeping to come by and clean again. At that point we already cleaned. They refused to discount the stay because we already received a “deal” when we booked. Overall, the company was very unorganized with their communications, stating $500 fines for amplified music yet 2 doors down was a band playing. Not worth the money. Book with another company”airbnb

“Our stay at the lakefront cabin was nice and the location is fantastic! Right up to the water and you even have your own private dock! Inside of the cabin was pretty clean, however, the lighting is very dim inside of the rooms and look a little different than the photos. Our power went out during our stay, not once but twice and although we were offered late checkout, I don’t feel like enough was done to amend the situation. They did offer us an extra night but it was the end of the weekend and we obviously weren’t able to stay. Unfortunately we had a few of the members of our party had to leave due to the outage. Obviously they can’t control the power when there’s a power safety shut off event but they can respond in a better manner. They said they informed us earlier in the day, however, that was not the case and I can’t find anywhere where they messaged me to inform us. They also had no emergency lighting that they said they had, luckily we always travel with our own!”airbnb

“Unfortunately we were overall disappointed by our stay at this home. The home did have many pros: -Bunk bed room was great! -Walkable to Aspen Glen (along a busy road) -Mattresses were comfortable -Plenty of bedding -Host was very quick to respond -Long driveway made for great snow play -Well stocked The cons: -We found mouse droppings in almost all kitchen cabinets and drawers & the upstairs living room. When we informed the host, they said that a cleaner would come, which never happened. -House felt cramped & dark, with lots of extra items (unlike photos) -Bathroom setup was misleading: online it says 2 bedrooms have an ensuite. In reality, 2 bedrooms share one small jack-and-jill (very small for 4 adults) -House was poorly heated. One bathroom was unusable due to being too cold in the evening -We kept losing power due to breakers tripping (e.g. when using space heaters) -Bathtubs didn't drain well and backed up -Felt more run down than photos appear (stains/tears in furniture)”airbnb

“Initially we got this place for the weekend and we got it for the hot tub, their hot tub didn’t work while there, someone came finally to fix it and showed up but still didn’t heat up properly case we left the following day. The place is ok but just the management was terrible and when I was trying to get my money’s worth back because it was way to expensive for not using a hot tub, nobody contacted me. Told them like three times to contact me and nobody did. Initially you are gonna have problems with the hot tub, it s an old one and the screen doesn’t work. The guy who fixed it couldn’t make it work and just took apart the bottom panels to fix it manually. Don t waste your money!”airbnb
