“Overall, we had a great stay at this house. Avant- Stay did an excellent job communicating everything from check-in, grocery shopping, to check-out. They answered all of my questions within a timely manner, so thank you very much. My overall rating of a four star vs. five star came down to the overalI cleanliness of the house. One of the burners on the stove was not working. There was one tiny bottle of dish soap, no aluminum foil, plastic wrap or sandwich bags, and the trash bags were the lowest quality bags that had to be doubled. When I pay this much for a 4 night stay these are the little things that I appreciate in an Air B&B. Also, the carpets were stained, and the couch. There were clothes left behind by previous renters on the back of a door, and a vape under one of the beds. The bath mats appeared not to have been washed either. Again, for the price point of this property I expect basic cleaning and amenities. I have stayed in many Air B&B’s that do it better.”

“The location of the home was in a great place. Located in Wild Dunes, this was super nice, peaceful and a beautiful location overall. LOVED the lagoon view! The place itself was very nice. It was clean upon entry and everything looked like the pictures we viewed online. I will have to say that the place looks to be well loved and a lot of visitors have been there. Very obvious wear and tear on a lot of the furniture, flooring and cabinets throughout. We still had a great time and no issues with the amenities, but the luxury feel of the place was not quite there.”

“The patio was outstanding with great furniture. The condo was very clean and had comfortable furnishings. The television was a struggle.”

“Our family of 9 had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home! It’s right out of a magazine!! The kitchen is amazing and the home offers so many beautiful spaces to relax together!”

“We enjoyed the location near the beach and pool, and downtown Charleston was about a 30-minute drive. The screened porch was nice to have, and AvantStay was very communicative and responsive. The home was clean overall, though a few areas felt worn and could use some maintenance. We also had trouble keeping the upstairs temperature comfortable. For anyone planning to bring additional guests and use the sofa’s extra sleeping space, the bathroom is very small with no counter space. There were only two of us, and we still found it difficult to share. You can also hear footsteps, doors, and occasional talking from the unit above. It wasn’t terrible, but worth knowing if you’re sensitive to noise. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, especially the location and screened porch.”

“Spacious house, great location to the beach, and very nice large pool in a private fenced in backyard. However; almost every chair/ sofa was ripped, all the carpets had stains, and the bathrooms need maintenance/ refreshed due to ware and tear.”

“This apartment was not suitable for people to be staying in as evidenced by the black mold in the shower. My husband and daughter became sick during our visit pillows on the bed had visible mold when we checked in the back deck screen was completely off because of rotting, and there was nail sticking out of it, which was dangerous. The front door had pieces of wood falling off of it as we entered I requested a refund or at least partial refund from the real estate company which they offered $100. I let them know that $100 is not sufficient for a condo that was unfit for visitors as it relates to health concerns.”

“The house is amazing! Super clean and in a great location. For the money we spent for a house with a pool, I would have expected that pool towels would be provided. Also, there were a lot of rules, which I understand wanting to protect your property, but it also made us feel like we were walking on eggshells. All in all though we had a great family vacation and the house was perfect!”

“Visit was great, however we were not aware of the new construction happening next door. We had a short walk to the beach because of a renurishment program that had not started as yet.”

“We had a great stay. The linens and towels were clean as was the rest of the house. The grill was functioning, clean and had enough propane. The ping-pong table was also a hit. The location was very convenient to the beach and the pool was clean and enjoyable. There was plenty of space for our crew and the en-suite bathrooms were spacious and pristine. As in other reviews, most of the furniture is tired and there is still some work to do with the bed situations. We reported several missing light bulbs and burnt out lights that were not addressed during our stay; the lack of lighting in the entry stairs was concerning as it was very dark at night. Proximity to bars with loud noise well into the night wasn’t appreciated by some of our guests. But overall, the positives outweighed any inconveniences and we enjoyed our stay.”
