The beds also had only blankets, with no comforters, which was not reflected in the listing photos. Most concerning, we found what appeared to be blood splattered on the bathroom door, raising serious concerns about the cleanliness of the property. After checkout, the host acknowledged our concerns and said they would schedule a deep cleaning and repainting. Overall, the discrepancy between the listing photos and the actual property, combined with the cleanliness issues, made for a disappointing stay.”

“Excellent rainy day retreat during football season! Dual TVs with pool table was perfect for two people avoiding Hurricane Isaias. Would stay again. Parking area not ideal in rainy weather. Muddy.”

“This place looked cute enough in the pics but was disappointing to walk in. One of those oh man how did it look so okay in the pics but I got fooled. It was kind of dirty and not very accommodating to guests. Would not stay here again. Also there was a loud high pitched noise that was emanating constantly from this dehumidifier. They had no soap for the washing machine and the “quick wash” setting held my clothes hostage for two hours or more. I would probably pass on staying here.”

“Location is extremely close to UNCW. The unit was easy to find. Host is great with communication. There was a noticeable smell and multiple bugs. The unit could have been cleaner. The AC is locked, so we had to request the host adjust the temperature for us.”

“Upon arrival, we found dead fleas, dog hair on the couch and bedding, and a strong odor of dog urine throughout the property. The property was poorly maintained and had plumbing issues, and its overall condition did not meet the standards expected of a professionally managed rental. We promptly contacted the host and provided video evidence. The host did not offer a resolution and said he would follow up the next morning, but no follow-up occurred. Because we had already traveled and had no alternative accommodation, we remained at the property and purchased sheets and comforters for our use, resulting in an unexpected additional expense. We reported the issues promptly and gave the host an opportunity to address them. The property’s poor condition, plumbing problems, and lack of follow-up materially affected our stay. Future guests should carefully consider these concerns before booking.”
