“The location was walkable or within a short uber ride to most downtown/popular areas. The house has plenty of space for groups and the hosts were responsive. It would’ve been a 5 star review minus a few things. They will not let you check in until 4 pm or you will be charged $75 per hour if you want early check in, our group was made to wait for 20 minutes outside until the clock hit 4. I’ve never had this issue before and I’ve used Airbnbs for 9 years. (the last time i checked it wasn’t booked before our stay either) There is also hardly any privacy due the lack of the curtains, this felt unsafe with a group of women. Also, the place was clean but we had to kill multiple large cockroaches despite not leaving food out and using raid ourselves. Overall a good stay but I would recommend making some changes for the above complaints which have been reviewed on by multiple guests.”airbnb

“This property has a good location for proximity to the hike and bike trail and walkable to some restaurants and bars. The alley entrance can feel less safe at night, particularly as a female. It would be helpful, if post construction on the front house, if you could access the main street via a walkway. The neighborhood community overall is nice. We had some issues with people accessing the property unannounced and some challenges with support getting us timely responses. Overall it is an older house and has some nice character, but it is not well maintained. Doors are not sealed well, which leads to a lot of spiders and bugs entering the house regularly. The freezer was in poor shape and we had to de-ice it ourselves to make it fit our frozen items. We work from home, so the two desk setup was a nice perk and internet speed was great.”airbnb

“iIt was actually worth more than what I paid. i had no idea such a quiet and beautiful little neighborhood existed literally right across the highway from all the places I wanted to go to. It's really a beautiful home. The art on the walls also is very beautiful. The host was friendly and responsive. I will definitely be staying here again if it's available. My suggestions are to switch the coffee table to one without detached glass since bumping into it can almost send it right off, and an extension cord maybe to plug in the toaster on the kitchen counter. Nothing that takes away from the experience at all. I will also say that the quality of the house is extra beautiful. The wooden floors, the all-over tile bathroom. The details are much nicer in person than the pictures.”airbnb

“Ames was an AMAZING host! Very friendly and professional. The house we stayed at was beautiful and spacious and most importantly was walking distance to many restaurants , bars and attractions. We will definitely be back. Thank you Ames!”airbnb

“Great stay overall! Ames was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the trip. The location was excellent and very convenient to downtown Austin and close to I-35, which made getting around super easy. Would definitely recommend staying here!”airbnb

“We really enjoyed our stay here however the check-in process made for a very frustrating first day and arrival. I received a message after the stated check-in time of 4pm that the cleaning service would not be done until 5:30. I had already filled out the hosts form letting them know that we would be there at 5 which gave them an extra hour past the stated check-in time. My group planned our whole day around the 4pm arrival and then I felt like by providing the extra hour there was no reason the house shouldn't have been ready. We did like the house but this really left a sour taste in my mouth after the only compensation I was offered was to stay for an extra hour after scheduled check out which none of us needed. I was told they would follow up but I never received any follow up on a resolution to the problem. While I would recommend the house itself I would be wary to rent from this company again knowing they don't hold up to the stated check-in time.”airbnb

“The home was an excellent place to stay—very clean, beautifully maintained, and in a fantastic location. The bedrooms and amenities were impressive, and the outdoor space was just as enjoyable. Overall, it’s a gorgeous property, and I would absolutely stay here again. My only downside was the communication and extra fees. It often felt like I was messaging an AI rather than a real person, which made the experience feel less personal. Additionally, there were charges for nearly every small request. For example, even checking in just one hour earlier than the 4 PM check-in time came with a $75 fee. The number of added fees for minor accommodations felt excessive.”airbnb
