Manager Review

Austin Vacay

Austin Vacay's guest rating of 4.72 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The listing is misleading. The "pool" is the Waterpark you have to pay extra for. There is no dishwasher, which was listed. There were no forks and spoons. I brought this to James' attention everyday but received no resolution. James responds quickly with apologies and he'll "address it with his team." But no resolution. I think this is a lower end experience for the money.

The location and views are great. But this home is convenient due to the location only, it needs updates, deep cleans and repairs. The attention to details to cleaning, repaid was missed. We were not comfortable staying here due to cleanliness and things being outdated.

This property has a good location for proximity to the hike and bike trail and walkable to some restaurants and bars. The alley entrance can feel less safe at night, particularly as a female. It would be helpful, if post construction on the front house, if you could access the main street via a walkway. The neighborhood community overall is nice. We had some issues with people accessing the property unannounced and some challenges with support getting us timely responses. Overall it is an older house and has some nice character, but it is not well maintained. Doors are not sealed well, which leads to a lot of spiders and bugs entering the house regularly. The freezer was in poor shape and we had to de-ice it ourselves to make it fit our frozen items. We work from home, so the two desk setup was a nice perk and internet speed was great.

The location was walkable or within a short uber ride to most downtown/popular areas. The house has plenty of space for groups and the hosts were responsive. It would’ve been a 5 star review minus a few things. They will not let you check in until 4 pm or you will be charged $75 per hour if you want early check in, our group was made to wait for 20 minutes outside until the clock hit 4. I’ve never had this issue before and I’ve used Airbnbs for 9 years. (the last time i checked it wasn’t booked before our stay either) There is also hardly any privacy due the lack of the curtains, this felt unsafe with a group of women. Also, the place was clean but we had to kill multiple large cockroaches despite not leaving food out and using raid ourselves. Overall a good stay but I would recommend making some changes for the above complaints which have been reviewed on by multiple guests.

We really enjoyed our stay here however the check-in process made for a very frustrating first day and arrival. I received a message after the stated check-in time of 4pm that the cleaning service would not be done until 5:30. I had already filled out the hosts form letting them know that we would be there at 5 which gave them an extra hour past the stated check-in time. My group planned our whole day around the 4pm arrival and then I felt like by providing the extra hour there was no reason the house shouldn't have been ready. We did like the house but this really left a sour taste in my mouth after the only compensation I was offered was to stay for an extra hour after scheduled check out which none of us needed. I was told they would follow up but I never received any follow up on a resolution to the problem. While I would recommend the house itself I would be wary to rent from this company again knowing they don't hold up to the stated check-in time.

The home was an excellent place to stay—very clean, beautifully maintained, and in a fantastic location. The bedrooms and amenities were impressive, and the outdoor space was just as enjoyable. Overall, it’s a gorgeous property, and I would absolutely stay here again. My only downside was the communication and extra fees. It often felt like I was messaging an AI rather than a real person, which made the experience feel less personal. Additionally, there were charges for nearly every small request. For example, even checking in just one hour earlier than the 4 PM check-in time came with a $75 fee. The number of added fees for minor accommodations felt excessive.

The host relied heavily on an external website instead of Airbnb, so information was fragmented. We asked about early check-in after driving overnight and were told 12 PM with no fee mentioned, but later were asked to pay, and the price eventually doubled ($111). We arrived at 11 AM and asked if we could go in, but we were denied because cleaning was supposedly scheduled. However, all the curtains were open and we could see everything looked clean, and no one ever showed up. We waited outside for an hour. During our stay, we received a text saying someone wasn’t able to park, we parked correctly, and neighbors played loud music overnight, past quiet hours. We found a cockroach near the bunk beds, saw spiders, and noticed poor sealing in the ceiling. There were diapers and clothes in drawers that weren’t ours. We were not informed the water was treated and salty, which made showering uncomfortable, we only found out from a note when arrived. The price we paid was not reasonable at all.

would have liked more flexibility with check in and out. the tap tastes and feels like it's directly from the lake and uncomfortable to shower in. other than that it was an incredible stay loved the view and the coziness of the cabin I'd give 4 stars would recommend just buy some water bottles ahead of time

It was a cozy little cabin. However it kitchen and furniture needs to be updated. The amenities around it is not like it was described. River looks abandoned, and water park is not open. Not much to do.

The instructions to enter the Airbnb incorrectly told us to use an old and non-functioning lockbox. The Airbnb does not look as nice in person as it does in the photos. The furniture is old. The living room couches are uncomfortable. The outdoor patio chairs could not be used because of missing cushions. The nicest bathroom was not usable due to a clogged toilet. The other two bathrooms were not as well updated. The glasses in the kitchen are almost all plastic. The entire apartment needs cleaning and updating. I would not recommend this particular house to stay in.
