Aloha Hawaii Rentals

Aloha Hawaii Rentals's guest rating of 4.70 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Unfortunately the experience of staying with Aloha Rentals was an all over bad experience. It was easy finding them and the building itself is fine, the balcony view was stunning. The locked box for the key of the apartment was half broken and it was very difficult getting the key out. As soon as we walked in everything looked fine but upon further inspection we noticed that the whole apartment was just so old and run down, not only the furniture but also the ambiance of the place was very off putting. But the worst thing is that in the bathroom, as soon as I walked in, I saw a huge cockroach on the floor. I immediately texted the host and asked if they did a pest control service prior to our arrival and they said yes and that the dead roach body was evidence that the service worked. Same day in the evening I saw a live cockroach crawling on the kitchen table into the toaster. Overall, the place needs renovation, but if you can handle living with insects, this place works just fine.

Location was wonderful, amenities were ok, lacking tender loving care from management that wad absent and careless. The actual owners of this place would be better off finding a loyal cleaning lady and advertising themselves on airbnb. The Tv/ cable did not work, the iron was patched up w tape, the ironing board was not usable and tiny, tv set outdated and small, cable service was off, the balcony door took significant strenth to move, the screen door was off track, the balcony cement was all chipped, the lock box needs update, the so called king size bed matress was composed of two twin put together under one fitted sheet and had a gap no matter the position, the shampoo and conditioner supplied was for one wash only, the so called area rugs looked dirty and rather disgustingly cheap.. l Things I liked: the home decor colors and assortment, the kitchen utensils, the sofa was nice and clean, the towels were thick and soft, pearly white, the bathroom closet is generous for space.

Greta location with plenty to do! Walkable to many restaurant and shops. Views were incredible and hot tub was a nice bonus. The on suite bathrooms were a nice perk for multi family stay. Beach toys, chairs and towels were a nice plus. The air conditioner unit ran the entire time and never really cooled the house. It was quite hot. Really need to service the unit. Could use a deep clean due to dusty baseboards and fixtures. Everything else was clean. Only one person could shower before the hot water was gone so plan accordingly. The laundry washer and dryer made our clothes smell bad and need a deep clean. Overall a good stay but the maintenance needs to be better kept up with.

The location itself was good, but unfortunately, our stay was significantly impacted by a roach issue inside the home. Over the course of four days, we encountered and killed six roaches in the Airbnb, including one that crawled on us while in bed. We reported the issue during the stay and communicated respectfully and directly with the host throughout the process. The host acknowledged that the property undergoes regular pest control treatment, but ultimately did not provide a resolution despite the impact this had on our stay. Hawaii is a tropical environment, but this Airbnb was the only place we encountered roaches during our entire time on the island. By the final two nights, we no longer felt comfortable in the space. For the amount paid, the condition of the property fell well below expectations. Sharing this so future guests can make an informed decision before booking, particularly if pest concerns are important to you when choosing accommodations.

We stayed a month. It was a great location and a gorgeous view. For the price, however, the beds could be more comfortable. During our stay we had only one request of management. Our request and their response appear below: Good morning, We have a couple of requests. 1. Could you bring us 2 fully functional beach chairs. The ones we have now don’t work properly. 2. Could we have 2 more beach towels. Thank you Jeanne Good morning Jeanne, We do not guarantee availability of beach chairs. The beach gear is provided by the owner, and lost or broken items won't get replaced until they are back on island. We provide beach towels for each guest. If they are dirty, please use the laundry machines in the home to clean and dry them. Mahalo, Aloha Rentals

Incorrect and conflicting check-in instructions that left us locked out, ants throughout the kitchen, extremely slow WiFi, and unclean beds. We also experienced bug bites. This caused a lot of inconvenience.

Very good location and very nice lodging. However, the housekeeping prior to entry was less than satisfactory. In addition, there were numerous repair tasks that need to be corrected, particularly a lockbox that is broken. Thus, leaving the key locked in the lockbox at departure was not possible.

The home is beautiful and the location is a dream, but unfortunately the stay didn’t match the price point or prior 5-star reviews. There was a noticeable mildew smell upon arrival. Several maintenance items needed attention (burnt-out light bulbs, a broken curtain in my child’s room), and basic supplies were lacking (only one bathroom had soap, empty salt grinder). I was told that no salt is standard. More concerning were the cleanliness issues: mold in bathroom, towels that smelled of mildew, and signs that bathrooms had not been fully cleaned (a half-used lump of soap and empty shampoo in one shower, a used Q-tip on the floor in another, hair in the sink/shower in a third). The management company refunded the cleaning fee, which we appreciated, despite blaming the cleaning issues on the “subtropical climate.” However, at this price point, I would expect the home to be fully guest-ready upon arrival. I have no doubt this house could be a dream with a bit more love and attention.

Overall we had a great stay. It was awesome having three bathrooms! However— Very basic amenities were provided, so plan to bring/rent your own beach equipment (although beach towels are provided!) and bathroom essentials. Beach gear and more basic pantry items would be good to provide given the rental price and strict cancellation policy. Also bright white overhead lights, which can’t be dimmed are the only lighting options. This was a bit harsh compared to the scenic mountain views and sprawling sunsets. Great location and nice pool for kids.

No complaints at all except a few very minor details. Like flimsy garbage bags, 1 paper towel roll, no soap by any sink, no means within the entire premise to allow for even sectional cleaning. Not even dust buster. If my stay wasn’t 10 days, this might not have mattered. Outside it this - awesome location.
