Great location for us.

The place was right on the water and not very far from downtown Tawas. We enjoyed the patio and lake access! The beds were comfy and the place was spacious. Really the only complaint we had is that the upstairs room smelled like cat pee so it did make it a little hard to sleep up there.

We had a great stay at this beautiful, private property with two clean cabins, well-maintained restrooms, and plenty of space for tents and large groups. The privacy made the price worthwhile, and there were plenty of tables, chairs, and kitchen supplies. However, there were very few utensils, no napkins, and the sink was not working. The checkout cleaning requirements also felt excessive, especially given the broken sink. Guests spent much of the morning cleaning, which detracted from an otherwise wonderful experience. Overall, this is a spacious, beautiful property well suited for large groups. With a functioning sink and more reasonable checkout expectations, it would be an excellent stay.

Great location! This was a last minute trip and there was little to choose from. The area is pretty and so much to do. The house is advertised as historical, it’s really just poorly maintained. I own an old home and understand the pros and cons of historical homes. This place has holes in the walls, it’s dirty. Just overall rundown and unpleasant. The beds are awful. The sheets and linens are stained. The towels are rough. I did not love this place.

Unit was clean and generally typical of older cottage on the inside. Very close to boat ramp and room for boat on trailer at cottage.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there were a few areas that could be improved. We were especially disappointed that we were unable to use the grill, as outdoor cooking was something we had been looking forward to during our vacation. The bathroom and kitchen were clean, well-maintained, and stocked upon our arrival, which we appreciated. However, the supplies provided were only enough to get us started, so we needed to purchase additional toilet paper and paper towels during our stay. The outdoor space was pleasant, though the fire pit was smaller than expected, and the patio table was missing its umbrella, which would have made spending time outside more comfortable. The neighbors were very friendly, and the property was mowed on our last day (Wednesday), which helped keep the grounds looking nice.

When we arrived at the check-in time, the cleaners were just starting to work, so we had to wait for them to finish before we could move in. Also, we had booked this for three nights. About a week before our rental started, I spoke with Eric, the property manager. We had a family emergency come up and I asked him if we could cancel the third night, he said because we already met the minimum 2 night stay requirement, he would cancel the third night and refund the cost. I sent him several messages after that with no response. I understand that we were within the cancellation period and normally would not get a refund, but because he said he would, I assumed that he would refund the third nights cost.

Would be beautiful if the grounds were a bit more cleaned up but we enjoyed our stay.
