“We enjoyed our stay at this home in Bar Harbor. As everyone else has said, it’s in a great location- within a 20 minute walk to all of Bar Harbor, and a short drive to hikes in Acadia. The house was clean and quiet, and great value. Hosts were friendly and responsive. The only thing that I thought needed improvement was the bed, which could use a foam topper to make it a bit more comfortable. Thanks for the stay!”airbnb

“We had some problems finding the place (as other reviewers have also mentioned) as GPS took us to a different nearby road, but we were able to get a hold of the managing company and got redirected to the right place. We were concerned about the house not having AC in the middle of August, but it was not necessary as the house cools down very quickly after dark with large windows throughout the house. The house has a private access to a nearby shore, and our kids spent a lot of time there picking up various sea creatures during low tide. We saw seals resting nearby in the cove as well. Overall it was a very quiet and private little space for our family to spend the week. Upstairs mattresses could use some updating as they are very soft and squeaky. The water faucet in the kitchen does not have a good amount of water flow. Other than these, the house is great.”airbnb

“We immediately felt at home and had easy access to everything we love to do, from swimming at Echo Lake and walking our dog along fire roads to dinner at Bub’s and 18 holes at Golf of Maine. The house was well equipped, comfortable, and very clean. Communication with management company was great and everything was easy and clear. We definitely recommend Gilbert Cottage!”airbnb

“We loved our stay here! It was perfect for 2 people for the week. Very clean and our hosts were very friendly! The location was perfect, it was about a ten minute walk to downtown where there were plenty of restaurants and shopping, and about a 15 minute drive into Acadia. Highly recommend this stay!”airbnb

“We’d give 100 stars if we could! Our family of 3 had a wonderful week here. It is truly right in the village - just step outside and you’re in Bar Harbor. It was so convenient to have a dedicated parking spot and we were in Acadia in minutes. The hosts are very responsive and helpful and clearly care about making sure their guests have a seamless experience. We have nothing but great things to say. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Bar Harbor, this is the one to book!”airbnb

“I booked Seal Rock to take my girlfriend on a trip to Acadia to propose to her. My now fiance and I had a terrific time. The cabin was wonderful and the hosts are very communicative. We had a great time on Mt Desert Island and would gladly book here again.”airbnb

“My partner and I rented the cottage for a week while we were visiting Acadia. It was a quiet and very beautiful spot, and Bar Harbor and the natural areas were both very easy to get to from there. Very comfortable accommodations and the place is very cute. Tom was very friendly when we spoke with him.”airbnb

“Such a great, spacious, and convenient stay in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor! Our family loved the convenience to all that the downtown had to offer (shops, dining, coffee, walking, the pier) without having to pay for parking. The house was very clean, tidy, and provided many extra towels, plates, and even a restaurant-style high chair for our little one. Very pleased with our stay! Note: if you have two larger vehicles, parking could be tricky, but we were able to fit easily with a minivan and car.”airbnb
