“We had a great stay. It's a really special house, huge, diverse, with tons of corners to get lost in. The kitchen, dining area, living and game room were perfect for our family to enjoy ourselves in, but there are a few things to take note of. We had a miscommunication issue about the heated pool. After booking, we were told that there would be a $100/day surcharge to heat the pool. We pointed out that the listing said that it was heated. A person came to fix it but the water never heated to the temperature they promised. The mini golf course needs to be fixed up. It hard to play on because the course was pretty beat up. The Master bedroom windows have no drapes or blinds. Sleeping masks were provided. However some people may not want or be able to wear them. There is also a privacy issue when dressing. The children’s quarters do not have window treatments either, fyi.”

“The property has tons of space and is great for large groups, with beautiful views. It is quite far from Asheville, and the closest large grocery store is about 15–20 minutes away, so keep that in mind when booking. There were a few maintenance and cleanliness issues: the garbage disposal was not working, the back porch door did not lock properly (so we had to leave it open), and the fan remotes were out of batteries, among other small things. We reported these issues to the host but did not hear back, so communication could have been better. Check-out is also at 10 AM, which is worth noting for larger groups.”

“This house has a lot of fun features, but our stay was mixed. The owners have done a nice job making an older home feel cute and cozy, with colorful murals and thoughtful design details. The theater was easily our favorite part. We loved watching movies there, the system was easy to use, and the popcorn machine was a great touch. We also enjoyed many of the indoor games. Unfortunately, the house could use more attention to cleanliness and maintenance. One bathroom had black spotting and did not feel thoroughly clean. The towels smelled like mildew, and clothes washed in the machine came out smelling mildewy. The hot tub also had a visible ring of grime, so we did not use it. Some theater seats were broken, the outdoor bowling lane did not work well, and the bocce set was missing balls. No filtered water, and the tap water tasted unpleasant so bring water. Overall, the house has personality and some great amenities, but improved cleaning and upkeep would make a big difference.”

“The views are stunning, and the sunrises are absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing I can say about this stay. Cabin #5 is extremely small. While it's advertised to sleep six, 6 adults would not fit comfortably. There’s NO closets, literally not 1 single closet, & only 3 forks. The shower had visible BLACK MOLD, the mini-split units had visible mold inside them also, and the main unit in the living room was covered in thick dust, so we didn't use them. The Ooni pizza oven is left outside uncovered and was full of spider webs. We also found hair on the beds and floors, making it appear the cabin had not been properly cleaned. To make matters worse, there was a mouse inside the cabin, and construction in the neighboring cabin started around 6 a.m., waking us up on our first morning. I would not recommend staying here or return myself. The cleanliness and maintenance issues completely overshadowed the beautiful views”

“House was great with a lot of room. The pin pong table was a hit with my family. A little disappointed with pool and hot tub. Landscaping around the pool was not kept clean. Also the chairs around pool old and dirty. Hot tub cover was broken so very hard to take off.”

“The inside of the home did not match the listing photos. The furniture is completely different, run down, heavily stained sofa in the living room. The main sofa feels like it will break when sat on, with a large lump in the chaise area. Again, VERY heavy staining. The listing did Turkish towels but they just have amazon basic towels. Not a big deal but it did not match the listing description. They also did not have hand towels or wash clothes available like the listing showed. The room with the two beds does not have a door. They positioned the listing photos so you can’t tell. THE SHEETS WERE DIRTY WHEN WE ARRIVED. This was extremely inconvenient as we arrived very late in the night and then had to wash all of the bedding. Did not get to sleep until 2 am. Warning for future guests, this is a downstairs unit and you will hear every footsteps from the above unit. The family above us was pacing around above our room well past midnight every night of our stay.”

“MAJOR BUYER BEWARE. I booked this property for all of my kids and grandkids for the week, and it was the worst house I’ve ever stayed at in Destin. The pictures don’t match the actual house at all as it is almost falling in. Dishwasher coming out of the wall, mold growing out from baseboards, etc. but the worst part is the rat infestation we encountered on night 3. Found rat poop and tears all throughout the guest house. Alerted management who said they could send someone the following night over 48 hours later. Needless to say half of my family moved out of the guest house and into the main house to avoid the rat infestation. This house honestly needs to be taken off Airbnb until it can be updated. We have requested a refund and are still awaiting status. I will update my review once refund is finalized. Do not book this place!”

“I would not recommend this property due to the management company. We specifically booked this rental because of the private pool. The evening before our arrival, we were told the pool might not be available due to maintenance. We were then repeatedly told that a maintenance team was working on it and that it might be ready, only to be informed while we were already traveling that the pool would not be available at all. When we arrived, it was obvious this was not a new issue. The pool was full of algae, frog eggs, tadpoles, and frogs, showing it had been neglected for quite some time. It is difficult to believe that no one associated with the property knew about its condition before notifying us at the last minute. This happened during my wedding week, and instead of spending time with family, I spent days fighting for a refund. While we eventually received one, the lack of transparency and poor communication made this an unnecessarily stressful experience.”

“The house is nice, but we were disappointed to find the pool was unusable upon arrival. The AC was also not working great for most of our stay. The temperature was around 77 the whole time. The location is OK- about 15 minutes to Hendersonville and 25-30 to Asheville.”

“Pool was full of leaves and muck.. they said the cleaner was just there but it was dirty upon arrival.. the guesthouse had no power and no resolution was done for us. we ended up cancelling and finding a new place. There was glass in the sandpit and we had 7 kids with us. The pictures absolutely did not match what the home looked like.. maybe 20 years ago. This place could be so great if it had a facelift and someone who actually cared for it. We were very sad when we showed up.”
